  1. This was my 13th in 20 years, I’ve never previously minded the crowds and felt able to negotiate them. But this year it was the relentlessness of them, the site felt busier overall. I know my way around well but for short people who can’t see above the crowd it’s easy to lose bearings in the throng. Park/Arcadia junction was madness at times. Over the years friends have dropped off saying that it’s got too busy, this was the first year that I have had to acknowledge this fact for myself. Saying all of that I was camped on pennards and our bit felt quieter and less crowded than previous years. Queues for food in The Park were the longest I have ever seen them. Glastonbury has been such a huge part of my life that I can’t comprehend not going, but the reality is, that for me, the over crowding was too much this year.
  2. Overheard on the entrance to the southeast corner at 2am Monday morning - The thing is that I really like it over here but I also really like being in my own bed.
  3. So all the time before you leave Glast the wedding will be there on your mind and the responsibility of not missing the flight and being straight enough to travel. Then when you are at the wedding part of you will be thinking about what you are missing on site. They are both big occasions and you won't be fully present for either. I would choose which is most important (some historic friendships are just that and this could be the opportunity to realise/bow out) But if the friendship/wedding is most important them give it your all, make it count and make it worth missing Glast for.
  4. The Cajun surf and turf was so good that I had it twice, it had no real queue those first couple of days, but word must have got out as saw much bigger queues on Sunday. This would have been the highlight if we hadn't discovered MR BOMBAY - between glade dome and other stage - amazing value at £11 for a box with a taste of everything, enough for two! My friend couldn't finish it.and I couldn't help him as I'd had the £8 chicken wrap which was v v full and filling. We'd had to abandon eating in The Park as all the queues were too long and noticeable longer, we've camped in that area for over 10 years. We also had a great toastie as a snack one day, I went back for breakfast the next morning with a different friend and it was really disorganised and spoilt the experience. The least nice food was sausage and chips - but to be fair they were doing it for a fiver, so fair play it was a fivers worth.
  5. Gaudi has just posted this; The official rehearsal for our Glastonbury gigs is finished and went down very well, we are now ready for some stage actions! This year I'm not playing my usual solo gig, instead, we are presenting this new project called Chant Live, consisting of an ensemble of 6 musicians playing live dub-electronica, sampling the audience in real time and integrate it into our songs, the crowd interact with us fully, live, helping the composition of the tracks on-the-fly! I'll be playing my theremin, minimoog and live dub manipulation actions while Don Letts will be sampling the audience and send the source straight to Dan Harper and his loop machine, while Dan Morrell manoeuvres the stems and Nanopunk glitches them, Ned Scott of The Egg will then create atmospheric soundscapes with his synthesizers! Complex stuff to coordinate but highly satisfying me tell ya! We will perform 3 shows: Sat 25/06 h4pm on the legendary Greenpeace Stage, Sun 26/06 h10pm @ The Rabbit Hole (Funkingham Palace), Sun 26/06 h11pm @ the Crew Bar! 💚🤟❤️ Don Letts GAUDI Chant Live Feel Life Music Glastonbury Festivals @nano punk Ned Scott THE EGG Invisible System @dan morrell Greenpeace International #glastonbury The Rabbit Hole, Glastonbury Festival The Rabbit Hole at Glastonbury Festival Sounds like it might float your boat?
  6. You can also get trainers with that waterproof stuff on them! Goretex trainers = life changing!
  7. Thank you Alvoram! Very nicely put.
  8. Awww Ed that’s hilarious 🤣 And yes I agree a sign of a great club is people of all ages. After all many DJs are hitting 60 now. I recently went to the ‘king of the beats’ night an amazing breakbeat line up Stanton’s/plumps/krafts and the atmosphere was so friendly I felt so at home. It was my first proper club night after lockdown and was everything that I want from a club night. Sounds like you are going to love Glastonbury! It really is the BEST!
  9. This is my 20th anniversary of my first Glastonbury. 20 years a raver! Mostly into breakbeat but love electronic music of many genres. I was a bit late to the party but I'm still very much on board. I'm 61 and still going strong. That first Glastonbury changed my life and I am so grateful for the music and the friends I have made over the years.
  10. Also I come and mostly lurk in here about 6 weeks pre festival, I don’t say much but loving this thread, some great contributions, and welcoming enough for me to say HELLO!
  11. I did get a bit excited that Burial was playing, but can’t see them on the A to Z list, unless you know something we don’t?
  12. Thank you so much, I would say spot on for the descriptions of the DJs I know.
