Why people are talking about Kings of Leon's albums?? It's astonishing.

IF Arcade Fire where to be 2nd top to U2 it would probably be the best 4 hours of music in maybe Glastonbury's history.

I have to admit to being quite late to the game regarding Arcade Fire, but they would definitely put on a great show. I would go out of my way to see them, absolutely.

They're potential headliners in a couple of years.

Arcade Fire would be a great addition to any line up, The first 2 albums were excellent in my eyes. I still dont fully appreciate the third but like all AF's stuff it gets better the more you listen to it. Would still prefer Elbow to play before U2 but wouldnt be upset if it was AF

Do we really think this is going to happen? As much as i'd love it to happen, and it would be incredible.. i just don't want to get my hopes up too much. If we take a look at last years sub headliners.. it was going to be Dizzee before U2, Scissor Sisters before Muse and Faithless before Stevie.. Quite diverse pairings if you ask me. It seems as though the Eavis' like to mix it up at the top of the lineup.. As much as i think Arcade Fire followed by U2 would be an incredible 3.5/4 hrs of music, i have the feeling as though they may be seen as a little too similar to play one after another. I just really hope i'm wrong.

10. Considering as previously mentioned they're one of the biggest bands in the world and the headliners look certain for Pyramid and Other, where else can they play that would be big enough for them? I'd love to see them headline JPT but I don't fancy getting murdered.

Don't get me wrong, I really do what it to happen like most people here. Its just well last year we had...well Dizzie subing, they could easily do other stage against U2 like Flaming Lips last year which would be dreadful! so if they are playing it could be to split the u2 crowd. (Or Sub is likely depending if we here more about the Primal Scream rumor).

Much as I'd LOVE this to happen (the Arcade Fire bit, I'd rather boil my head than watch U2 but that's just me) I think it seems pretty unlikely. They've got a huge amount of their own concert tickets to sell before the Glastonbury line up is announced at the start of April, and I would have thought their management/agent/promoters would have been unwilling to commit to anything that wold distract from that. It's a pity they don't have a better relationship with the festival. They're the kind of band I would have thought GFS would have loved - commercial and critical credibility, give tonnes of money to Partners In Health etc

As I've said a couple of times, if I had a category between 'rumour' and 'strong rumour' they'd be marked as that currently, rather than as 'strong rumour' as they are.

But Glastonbury's already sold out? The majority of people won't be able to have the choice between Glasto and Hyde Park because first of all, Glasto sold out back before people thought AF would be playing, and there'll be very few tickets in the resale, and even less who will make the decision to go to Glasto just for AF. I'd say it was a very small number of people who will make the choice, so I can't see it affecting their sales too much. The point of them playing Hyde Park seems to be to top up their Glasto fees as we all know, they're not much for the headliners, let alone the subs.

I am considering a ticket for Hyde Park. But knowing they are a possibility for Glasto is making me not get one. The dilema a lot of people will be having I think.

It's not exactly like it's going to be easy to get a ticket for Glasto. People will have to register, then pray to get a ticket, It was hard enough to get a ticket in October. Where as if I specifically wanted to see Arcade Fire, I could buy a ticket right this very minute and pay 42 quid it whatever it is, rather than spending 200 quid to see other bands I didn't neccessarily want to.

How many out of the 175,000 ticket holders currently will be Arcade Fire fans? I'd say it'll be a very low percentage, and out of them, I'd say a smaller percentage would have gone to Hyde Park.

Exactly this. And then add the Edinburgh Castle and Manchester MEN tickets into the equation. A lot of the people who would potentially buy tickets for these three shows will already have Glastonbury tickets and won't necessarily shell out twice. Myself included. If they're not doing Glastonbury I'll buy Hyde Park tickets. If they are I won't.

Well the only way this debate is ever going to get settled is if AF tickets suddenly sell out after the Glastonbury lineup is announced.

I agree with the secretingredient though. I don't think Glasto will have a detrimental effect on Hyde Park tickets since no one bought Glastonbury tickets for Arcade Fire, and not that many (maybe a few thousand) would sack off HP if they played Glasto. And Glasto TV footage (if they do play) is going to sell the HP tickets out regardless. The Manchester and Edinburgh gigs would have a much greater effect, since that's 10,000s of fans who probably would've trekked to London if there wasn't a show on their doorstep.
