I think this is a fairly good review, although I'd suggest its a decent album. It clearly can't hold a Light to the first three, especially YAYM and ASH but I prefer it to OBTN. As someone said earlier, its definetly an album to listen to when in a drunken stupor. Personally I enjoy the albumbut its obvious that the band aren't sure of the direction they wish to take, as the review suggests, and they have certainly lost some of that rawness they once had. Is it coincidence that this has come at time when they have grown up, A LOT compared with their previous drug and alcohol fueled binges?

Overall its a good album, and if you ask me I think most people don't give it a chance beacause its fashionable to love the older Kings, this and OBTN aren't rubbish albums they just arentas good as the first two or three. I could be wrong, they could be awful and I just have poor taste. But come on, thats EXTREMELY doubtful :P

EDIT: one thing I will say is its ridiculously over produced in some places, often U2 like, but then I love U2!

Funny, I think it starts off OK but after about track 6 it gets very samey. The End and Mary are the stand out tracks IMO. That said, I think all of KOL's albums have been growers rather than grabbers (Aha Shake Heartbreak aside, that is a great album from first listen).

I'd like to see them strip back some of the production and try to gain a bit more raw edge back. I like OBTN but that, and this, are produced to the point it dulls the experience.
