This is my take; The first album was amazing. Everything since then has been a massive let down. However live they are out of this world. Probably my favourite two gigs of all time are Daft Punk live in 1997 and Daft Punk live in 2007. (although I've a feeling that Richard Hawley at Bridlington Leisure World tommorrow night may run them close).

Can't for the life of me understand the appeal.

This is no doubt my problem but I find them rather tedious. Much like Faithless and Kraftwork, both bands people get people wetting themselves with excitement but bore me to tears. Dull, dull, dull.

Sorry.

To all those bigging up the Alive 2007 album of Daft Punk thanks.

For some reason after having all the studio albums I'd never got this.

This album is awesome and my only concern now is if Daft Punk do play and they go up against Prince

Would hopefully just get to see them on the road somewhere else instead.

Daft Punk seem to be one of the most popular acts suggested on these forums every single year, yet they still haven't played. Surely someone is taking note of how huge the demand is for them to play?! It just seems surprising that (on this forum, at least!) daft punk crop up every year as a really popular act that just seems really unlikely to ever happen! I would LOVE to see daft punk at Glastonbury, but the rumours fall on deaf ears every year so I've lost hope of it ever happening

    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
