Here's a thought.

By allowing 8 tickets per screen, then clicking "more" and geting another 8, the system sort of favours groups of friends all getting tickets.

So....potentially a more sociable demographic on site is the result, if you take the view that groups of 8 - 20 people camping together will likly be more prone to self-police, look after each other, exert peer pressure on anyone their party being antisocial, and generally make for a better "vibe"....

Or is that rubbish.

I'm not sure what your point there is. If I hadn't got a ticket I wouldn't have thought it was due to people trying to make a profit.

Here's a thought. Entry to one off a Jimi Hendrix resurrection gig to the first 100 people to turn up in person at the club. First person gets in and holds the door open for 99 of his mates who come along later. Would that be fair? He didn't make a profit out of it after all....

only if a door were being held open, which, if you read the thread where people are talking about how they managed to make multiple bookings, it wasn't. my method and the most popular was merely to batter hell out of the f5 button while on the queue page.

Disgusted, to not even be able to get to the actual sale website is not acceptable. I hold you Mr Eavis totally responsible for this shambles.

I want an apology, and I want answers Eavis

Life is a bitch. Should have been up at 830 like those who got tickets, or used some initiative. and googled glastonbury tickets, then you probably would have got the link that would have brought yo past the page that kept crashing.

In all fairness, I would be pretty pissed if i didnt get tickets, but then again this is what you get for blasphemy of the great lord. god michael eavis

Who wouldn't use a leg up to get tickets for themselves or there mates? We all would. Is it fair? Kind of, I can see both sides of the arguement but with the registration process at least the tickets are going directly to people who want to attend the festival for a fair price, whatever way they get them.

and that person sitting for hours never to even see the page has been me before. thus, i spent 5 hours battering hell out of my keyboard trying desperately to get back in for other people once my own ticket was sorted. what people? any bloody people, i practically had a full-on ad on facebook to hit me up if anyone needed a hand. if i can help someone avoid that feeling of utter disappointment, i will. it's not like i strolled right on in and scooped loads of tickets for my own clique.

I got in the queue at 8.35am, thinking I'd sneak in before the mad 9am rush. Never happened. Stopped trying at 10am when my mate got through to buy our tickets.

I think that's the key: get organised. There were six of us trying for 12 tickets. Only one guy got through. The thing is, when he got through, a load of his other tabs got accepted too.

Very weird, but that's the luck of the draw.

As for me, I was sick of seeing the yellow 'timed out' triangle. I couldn't even get on to Efests. However, I knew what to do: keep trying, be patient, stay in touch with the other friends and...think about going to another festival!

Fortunately, I'll be back in Pilton after a two year absence.

It is definitely true that many people who didn't get tickets tried just as hard as those who did, and harder than some who did, because you will always get some lucky sod who strolls in at midday and seems to get through with their first click.

It is good that the speed of your computer seems to make no odds - our computer is terrible - generally very slow - cobbled together from about 5 different broken computers that we rescued from skips because we couldn't afford a new one! But that means there is no advantage to being richer - which is good.

But - it is true that whether or not you use a "back button" of any description, once you get through once, you will get back there quicker. This is simply because your computer has learnt the route in and therefore can find it's way back faster. There is no selling system that can stop this. There is no reason why anyone with other friends trying for tickets won't help them once they've got their own. It is just how it is.

I know how horrible it is to miss out and everyone has my sympathy who is in that position, but thinking it's a conspiracy of some description is about as helpful as the smug idiots who think you would have got one if you'd got up earlier.

The best way for people on their own or in smaller groups to get round this is to build their network here. If you can't beat them join them - anyone who wants to go to glastonbury can find support to help get them there via an internet forum, it isn't exclusive, it really is the best way forward!

I agree with the poster above, some people couldn't get thru at all yet some people could get on again and again. I couldn't get through with 4 laptops a netbook and a couple of phones going continuous from 8:50am , yet my mate bought tix and then went back on and got right through straight away to book mine for me.

So some people could get through many times without any problems and others just could not get through at all.

I wonder if it was down to a certain server you were connecting via?

I know the iphone 3g route was working well...

So it appears that you never stood a chance of getting tickets if you were going via a certain route. Which is unfair really. But what can you do?

Those that tried and failed should open a thread with geographical details and ISP used. Do something constructive and identify the fault so it can be fixed.
