For my part I was in the queue at 8:55 and then got kicked out and saw nothing but white screen for the next two and a half hours. I only got a ticket because friends got through, but that's happened in previous years as well. So I don't see a problem. If those friends hadn't got through I'd have been disappointed but that's life. Those on facebook threatening death to Eavis and his livestock are worse than pond scum.

I dont blame ME for what happened, but there does seem to be something severely wrong with the ticketing system in the fact that some people were able to buy 40 tickets when I couldn't even get 2. I wouldn't mind so much if it seemed fairer, people got through once, bought their 6 tickets or whatever then that was it. But the people saying "oh I got 30/40 tickets" or whatever are just twisting that knife a little bit more for the gutted people who missed out.

Lucy, thank god for the voice of reason. I reckon I'm gonna get that printed on a t-shirt.

See you in 9 months time x

People have been doing favours for mates who can't get on the site for years, it's nothing new... and everyone would do the same!

This year's booking had unusually strong demand because this year's festival was so sunny and dry, so there aren't lots of people put off by a poor experience.

Isn't this a slightly stupid thread?

ME already apologised immediately to those who couldn't get tickets. And Seetickets can't build a system capable of handling that volume of calls simply for one event per year.

And in the end, as many people have said, there are 180k tickets and probably around 300k trying to get them today. So people are going to miss out.

I missed out last year, was upset, went to Roskilde instead, had an awesome time, and got lucky with Glasto this year. Onwards and upwards.

interesting- that's a fast Internet connection to totally fail you. I was using IE with my work's 100MB T1 connection and got in the queue immediately. Got the booking page after a frantic half hour refreshing the same window. Seems to have been a lot busier than last year and you'd have to blame U2's announcement for that. I guess they wanted a big, friendly crowd...

I am a little unsure as to why they keep using seetickets when there are ticketing agencies that have greater server capacity. Fairly sure Ticketmaster could have coped better, they managed the MJ o2 dates fairly well.

At the end of the day though, no matter how good the servers are, there's still only a certain number of tickets available ...

He's damn well responsible for providing outlet for sales, this was not provided adequately. He needs to aopologise to me and no doubt 1000's of others for not allowing a fair sale of tickets. To see people buying tickets on behalf of others is not at all fair.

I hold Eavis responsible for this farce.

It is true that once a person had got in, they were able to repeatedly refresh the registration page and purchase a lot tickets. I don't think it's fair (although that's how I a FOAFOAF got mine).

I have a hunch the likelihood of getting a ticket is network-related. Mobile networks seemed to do better than BT/Virgin.

Disgusted, to not even be able to get to the actual sale website is not acceptable. I hold you Mr Eavis totally responsible for this shambles.

I want an apology, and I want answers Eavis

I think you're right. I've had shockingly crap ping times today and I didn't manage to order any tickets, when in the past I've managed it reasonably quickly. All websites seem to be going really slowly for me today. Nice timing.

i bought over 30 tickets today for friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends and for many random people off forums

unfortunately Efestivals is shit on ticket day and i couldnt make that offer to the people on this website

but if i did, i wouldnt have sold one to you

grow the f**k up and stop whinging like a little child.

It's not Michael Eavis' fault you didnt get a ticket, he's an old man who owns a farm, do you think 150,000+ people should get in a queu and buy the ticket in cash from him?

That's what I'm gambling on. TBH, my family situation's going to make it pretty difficult to come to the festival this next year. If I manage to get a complimentary ticket I'll be able to use the 'waste not, want not' argument. :)

This morning I was trying to buy for eight of my friends. One of our friends in another group managed to buy tickets for our 8.

I was feeling angry with a few people on sunday afternoon... whoever runs seetickets, the BT answerphone woman and Bono for a start... but certainly not with the Eavises -

As far as I'm concerned they put on an incredible festival (almost) every year, yes I am gutted not to get a ticket and naturally I will be trying any way I can to do so in the next 6 months but it is definatly not their fault.

If everyone got to the sale page, not everyone who got that page would get tivckets. So the end result is no different at all.

There's more people that want tickets than there are tickets. Some people will always have to lose out, and this it it seems that unfortunately includes you and not someone else. It's how the cookie crumbles.

There is no system in the world that anyone can introduce that will make those who lose out happy. It's just how things are.
