Well another 2 points dropped. Yes Arshavin's goal should have stood and we should have had a penalty, but excuses don't win titles. Thankfully with the international break coming up, hopefully we'll start getting players back from injury before we play too many league games. We desperately need Fabregas, Walcott and Van Persie if we're going to run United close.

I do find the United "media blackout" frankly pathetic. Fergie has long been the master of manipulating the media, and it's worked for him on more occasions than i'd care to remember. That he's now throwing his toys out of the pram when things aren't going well is really sad to see.

Great game at Wolves yesterday. A fitting tribute to Dean Richards (not that he'd have wanted to be connected with some of that defending). Oh and how on earth was that Wolves goal disallowed, if anything it was a foul the other way!

If Utd keep defending like yesterday you’ll have no issues. Really haven’t seen them defend that badly in years. Really thought it could have been 5 or 6 if Liverpool had really gone for it or if Gerrard was fit.

As for Sunderland, they'll be lucky to finish 8th despite the rather lucky point they picked up on Saturday. 9th or 10th looks more likely, and the prediction I made early in the season of the teams I said were better than them looks like coming true. We'll get to see how true when the season is over.

I disagree. Utd have been f**king awful over the last couple of months. 3 defeats in 5?!

I don't really think the defeats mean too much - it's not like Utd have suddenly got worse with how they're playing, it's just that they've stopped getting some rather lucky results. If you like, it's their season form averaging out, to account for that long unbeaten run they had - they were always going to start losing sooner or later, they haven't been playing well enough to sustain that unbeaten run.

What's in Utd's favour is that every other team at the top has been doing the same and look like continuing doing the same, so while Utd are going to continue dropping points the other teams are too. Yesterday's result does open things up with Arsenal but I can't see them averaging more points than they have been, particularly as they're getting injuries now.

As I said, we've had 7 games against all of the top sides to undergo and will fall behind, before playing 7 poor as piss sides that will see us rise. 1 point from 5 of those 7 has been misleading in relation to performance.

As you incorrectly said, we've done well against the elite and poorly against the rest. Against the elite we're 1W6D4L. Against the rest we're 8W5D5L.

It's like I said, it all boils down to the game against Liverpool. If we win that then we're a point behind with only Man City to play away before we play nothing but fodder, which I believe we're more than capable of beating.

The game against Liverpool isn't the decider for 6th. If you win it you'll still finish below them.

It's the 'goal difference table' that is giving the best indication right now of teams finishing places - and that says 8th at best for S'land, but could even be 11th if Villa get their shit together and their results start to be as good as their players.
