I mean, tell them off air and maybe ask is it ok to ask them their opinion on air but don't dootstep them with a camera and a fucking mic.

"Ohhh look everyone! We here at Sky News have the info before the family do. And to prove it we're going to publically devastate the Godmother. Walk with me..........check this out........ok Sky News exclusive - you don't know this yet but your 5 year old Goddaughter is probably dead........ what do you think about that?!".

Yet again, Chris Morris couldn't write this shit.

Anyway, looks like she has been killed. Fucking tragic. What is wrong with these people?!

Daily Hate saying he was seen near the river with a black bin bag day after she went missing... Obvious now why so much attention is there...

I can't believe that the old bill are particularly certain that's true, because otherwise they wouldn't be searching the countryside as they have been doing.

Also, all identification evidence is now tainted to the point where it could only be used in court if the identifier knew the guy prior to this, because of the police releasing his photo.

And I wonder if this 'black bag' story is true too - the old bill had had 2,500 calls by last night - and I can't believe that anywhere near that number of people would have seen anything of relevance, which gets to mean that any singl;e report anyone might have made is less likely to be true than not.

never watch Sky News. Total shite of a channel, and on the whole I find 24 hour news totally tedious. Only use it for a short period when a major news event has occured, otherwise its just on a 15 minute cycle, with each loop round trying to find something slightly more interesting to say than what they said last time. Which inevitably ends up with them talking total shite

"Being interviewed by Kay is, as we all know, like being interviewed by a backward child. That's obviously great most of the time. But occasionally she will throw you a curveball like a child might: 'Why is there war?' 'What is Europe?' – and if you can't answer it's you who ends up looking like the thick-as-pigshit chancer."

This.

Totally agree with what mr abdoujaparov says about 24 hour rolling news. It pisses me off to the point that I don't bother with even that now, situations like this are just perfect examples of them doing anything they can, no matter how flimsy the reasoning to support it, to get some sort of "exclusive insight" on any major story, upsetting a relative is small fish compared to how far they will go sadly.

God help anyone whose life suffers a tragedy that becomes "news" because the pain of the tragedy might well be fuck all compared to having your entire life invaded by the world through a microphone or camera lens right up until the moment something else comes up and they will fuck off and leave you alone.

I haven't read a newspaper since college (99 maybe), watched a news channel since the Iraq war (what, 03?), or listened to the radio ever. I get my general info through serendipty mainly. I prefer it that way. If it's important enough, it'll present itself to me.

However, I seek out information of my own personal interest quite avidly. And to a rather intense degree often becoming something of an expert in anything I turn my gaze to.

But that's just me.......

So with time running out to charge this guy who has been arrested, where would he go if released?

So much media of who he is, police releasing pictures etc etc. Its not like he could go in any communities as the meatheads would lynch him.

Im a bit confused how they can charge him with murder and no body has been found, I know there a small chance but april could easily be in a shed somewhere or with someone else. I can understand if its been weeks but not after a few days.

Perhaps he has admitted it or they have evidence to assume he has, but not telling them where the body is? Hence being done for attempting to pervert the course of justice?

I have no ideal how the law works though for charging someone with murder, does there need to be a body?

Guess they needed to charge him, or he would be getting out at 5pm today.

In the US there has to be a body, I seem to recall having read/heard. In the UK it's not the case (moors murderers as an example) but the police/cps have to have enough evidence to prove that the absence of a person is as a result of this person having murdered them. They seem certain they have their man.

Just got around to watching the Jimmy Saville Doc, two things

1) That episode of clunk click with him and Gary Glitter cuddling underage girls on tv WTF?! Was Points of View around in those days? can't imagine it was seen as acceptable even back then.

2) Some of the stuff coming out about the BBC's DJ's and music producers like Saville and Johnathan King is making the beeb sound worse than the catholic church for cover ups.
