I'm picking up a stone fireplace later this evening that I bought off ebay. They are selling for around the £600 mark on ebay for the exact same fireplace but I managed to get this one for £79. I don't know how I got it for that much, but it makes me happy to have done so. Now for the hard part - I've got to collect and fit it in my dining room.

Me and my mate have produced this song for my band, I thought I'd post it on here to see what you guys think of my music! Neil can delete this post if he wants if it's against the rules to post stuff like this on here. I've just been working on it all day yesterday and today and I'm really proud of it and I just thought it would be nice to get some feedback from people on here.

Here it is: http://soundcloud.com/samuel-higgins/haydn-the-normals-rock-n-roll

Ok, now it ain't exactly my thing, but I like what you've got. If I can make a couple of suggestions?

How about a little reverb on some of the vox? I'm also unsure whether the higher harmonies on the chorus backing vox work (although I do like the lead into the chorus)

And turn the guitar up a little, you've got a nice little riff, show it off, it's kinda low for me. Scuzz it up a little too... ;)

Overall tho, it's cool, if not exactly my thing.

Got my new caravan today. A stunningly beautiful and immaculate 12 year old Coachman Amara 520/4. 4 Berth, end washroom with a proper shower. It weighs 1500 kilios (about a ton and a half) but is easier to tow than my old lightweight Lunar thanks to the tow hitch with built in stabiliser

Full sized awning and all the works.

So now all I need is tickets for our Glasto Gang to enjoy the investment.

I like things that make people happy :)

Congratulations to everyone for their good fortune.

My reason for posting here?

I think I finally have a working machine again after about a year (other than at work or libraries or (more likely) pubs).

OK that's nothing to a new baby, place to live or caravan, but it makes me happy.

It was ticket day that made me get it fixed it was.

:) :) :)

What the hell is a contact lens test how do you fail it ?

Been wearing contacts since I was 16 and this is a new one on me :P

Hehe, taken me three tries to get them in cause my eye kept on shutting when I tried to put them in. But this time round I had practiced before hand and was confident and nothing went wrong :D

Indeed, I tried them a few years ago but couldn't get them in as I have the blink reflex of a hysterical child. I managed to get them in once, struggled to get them out and after several days of failure gave up altogether.

Yeah, I've been wearing contacts for 35 years and still have problems getting them in, my eyes are pretty small. I have extended wear varifocals now, so I'm posh.

I told the optician I needed them for festivals, but it was really after a rather unfortunate experience trying to take them out while drunk, which I won't go into out of consideration for those new to contact lenses.

I was sitting on the toilet last week when I saw that the toilet roll holder was finally falling out of the wall (it's been loose for a long time). I decided to yank it out (the toilet roll holder that is) and it left a small hole in the wall. I then thought I could put a glass eye in that hole and it would spook any visitors that used my upstaits toilet. Therefore I bought two glass eyes off ebay, which were delivered yesterday. I'm going to make another hole in the wall and stick them in there. I understand that this is not the norm but then again the things I put on the walls of my house generally don't fit that bill. I have yet to fit a sports car door to one of the walls. I've got the door. Just need to get some heavy duty brackets to hang it off. Too cut a long story short, I am happy with my Newborn glass eyes.

Even though I've not got Glasto tickets, this week has still been a great week. Finished of the E.P (which I will post on here tomorrow, just as long as it's ok for me to do that) and contact lenses are going great. Given me oodles of confidence, which will hopefully work out great for the gig coming up in a week! :D

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
