Oh, and, my new washing machine is being delivered today. This shouldn't really be something I'm happy about but after two months of launderette/mum washing I can't bloody wait for it to arrive and for normal washing routines to commence!

It's bigger than my last one too but yet more economical. Clever Kat.

Happy to hear that you are happy living with someone. Just as well, because the crazy cat lady thing is not a good look.

Unless you mean this type of crazy cat lady!

hey now, cats are useful. You can wear them as scarves and use them as hot water bottles. And they're really good alarm clocks, if you like your alarm clock going off every hour all night long.

The first ever gig with my new project tomorrow, just got back from a mighty rehearsal from (2:30 till about now!) and I must say that we are sounding extremely tight. We've basically gone from 3 days ago, not having any tunes learned and not even being sure that we actually want to do the gig, to today, where we've managed to throw together a setlist of 6 songs. Very excited and confident about this, first time being frontman as well, thinking that I'm going to try and pull of a cross between Nick Cave/Gene Ween and John Lyndon, but will most probably look like a drunken wannabe stumbling about the stage.

Ahh well, either way, it's gonna be so much fun and I can't wait!

Have fun with this tonight, hope it goes well for you :)

Absolutely gutted to say that the gig had to be postponed tonight due to the two other support bands pulling out! All is not lost though, as we've just been offered to play their Halloween party, which will mean that loads of people will be there, we will only have to play a half hour set, we get to throw in a few covers for laugh, and plus it means that I can perform in my banana costume as well :P

Oh bad luck! Still, Halloween should be great fun!

Just put a free £5 bet on the champions league tonight and came out with £105 :D.

Good thing because my balance before that was 0.00.

Excellent news. When I was about 20 I was once on my way to sign on and popped into the betting office. I had no idea about betting but knew I needed money for the session that weekend. I therefore placed a bet (with the help of the person on the counter) and went off to sign on. I popped back into the betting office and the lady who had helped me fill out the betting slip was almost River Dancing with delight. She told me that one of the dogs I had bet on had not been a starter and therefore all the money had gone on the one dog, which had won. With a happy face she handed over a wedge of cash to me. I looked at it and then thought that this and the dole cheque was going to do the job. I've never looked back since. Until now.

I forgot to say, just before I got to the betting office I'd tried to cash a cheque at Lloyds bank - for they had given me a cheque book afterall. I had been cashing these worthless cheques for some time. Anyway, the bastards had me on a list and pulled me up, took my cheque book off me and tried to insinuate that their system was the one to be adhered to. I couldn't see why then, and I still don't.

Managing to avoid the bottle nazis getting into the o2 on Tuesday so no spanish inquisition and having the top confiscated on H&S grounds  Water for the gig and journey home without the need for sneaky subsequent deployment of 1 of several spare tops secreted about my person or even feeling the need to try the rock sausage approach before strolling confidently past said nazis ! Result

Oh yeah, and Peter Gabriel was waaaaay more than a bit good needless to say :D

I have, at the age of 53, bought my first ever dressing gown. I've been wearing it since 3 o'clock this afternoon and may never take it off. Warmth, comfort and snuggliness. Who knew????

I used to go to the pub in my pyjamas when I was at university. Loads of people did. Not for the wackiness of it, but because it was comfortable and made the going to bed pissed up process that much easier. I had a flavour of it again tonight when I drove to the shops in my pyjama bottoms and slippers. However, I didn't get out of the car. My girlfriend went into the shop instead. Two litres of gin and six mince pies were the items bought. There's healthy for you.

Sitting here with a huge grin on my face as the gig last night went incredibly well, It's a weird position for me cause I'm usually quite a shy guy and I wasn't sure how I was going to behave, but I felt uber confident whilst on stage and never in my life have I ever had the courage to do what I was doing on stage. Almost cried after the gig finished because I wanted it to go on forever, even though we were playing to about 10 people, also received really positive feedback, no one realized it was my first time being front man!

Really looking forward to the next one.

Glad all went well BH and enjoy your break Yog.

I had a break today from the chaos of our house extension and went down to my caravan with Mrs GH. It really is all that I bought and looks lovely, Can't wait to take it on its first festival outing.

Hmm. I'm not one for mulling on what makes me happy. Purchased my first Blu ray player recently, along with a stack of sci fi movies and it gave me enormous pleasure to watch beautiful, pin sharp images float across my lovely tv. However, as the films are mostly in 5.1 and are being forced through my tv's 2 speakers, dialogue is being overwhelmed and i have to crank up the volume to understand what's going on which leads to the further problem of explosions and the like being absolutely deafening when they come along. So, on balance, i'm actually annoyed. Damn.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
