Anyone think he might be too big for the acustic tent or Jazz world. Oasis love them or loathe them always attracted a huge audience. If Noel play the acustic tent I imagine ther would bee too much demand. Prob better on the other stage headlining that in my opinion

Well, the best set I ever saw on the JazzWorld was John Fogerty (who went down an absolute storm) - and I'm pretty sure there's plenty of people who would consider him a 3 chord rock act.

That was Eavis's doing rather than a Jazzworld booking.

You can argue that the stage is for (or should exclude) a particular type of music, but you're a few years too late I'm afraid.

while there's exceptions (and have been for years - Orbital were not wanted by Jazzworld but were forced on it) the number of exceptions are small, and those exceptions have tended to be legendary acts. Which still excludes Noel.

You (and I, for that matter) may not consider Noel Gallagher to be legendary or even noteworthy - but there's plenty of people who disagree and ridiculous as it sounds a fair few of them genuinely believe he's one of the all time musical geniuses. You must've encountered them before?

No way is he a legend of the type that Eavis has had put on that stage in recent years - the aging bluemen types, Fogerty, Armatrading, etc.

Modern and popular does not make a legend.

    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
