Did you see the concert they put on youtube, I gave it a watch just to see the stage set-up. They sounded awful, Bonos singing was terrible. At least I know Ive got the Friday night free to do other things and not worry about missing the headliner.

Whoever they come up with on Sat and Sun are certainly gonna need some balls to follow U2.

I know there are some who are not big fans but this is quite an unusual occasion and in my view U2 have to take a lot of credit for stepping up to it in the middle of a US tour. And of course for Glastonbury (and ME personally) its a massive coup.

I followed U2 years ago and guess, perhaps like some others, I have drifted away from them a bit in recent times given their uber-status and everything that goes with it. But I have to say that this morning I am SERIOUSLY excited about this.

It will have that same sense of occasion that went into making an epic performance by Blur this year and we'll just have to see if U2 can seize the moment and deliver in the way that Blur did.

But the really interesting thing now is that if you are Bowie, Radiohead, Led Zep or anyone else mulling over a headline offer for Sat / Sun, how does this news make you feel? Like I said, whoever it is it will take real guts and an ego big enough to stand up and be counted.

If U2 are on Friday then this means one of two things, either it was the only night they could realistically have played due to commitments, or two they have someone MASSIVE for saturday ...

And that could only be Led Zeppelin imo

Still looking good for the Zep. :P:P

Wow, could you imagine?! U2 and Led Zep. I'm creaming my pants already

Big booking for Michael Eavis....They will get a huge crowd, would imagine easy as big as Springsteen managed. Will i be there...depends on who else he has booked, and what sort of set list they do..early sfuff ok, don't rate the new material. How is Michael going to top this for Saturday and Sunday. :P

    • yes, but it will be called a care tax...much nicer name...and they will bin inheritance tax which no one likes even though most people don't pay it....and it will be used to pay for your granny. Burnham is obviously the saviour and will win labour another landslide because he's nice northern lad and not some sir c**t from surrey.
    • Hey, I correctly predicted the entire Bizkit Main Stage day months in advance 😝
    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
