Bon Jovi to headline?

Bon Jovi will today announce details of a summer residency at London's O2 Arena as part of their 2010 world tour. The band, famed for hits Livin' On a Prayer and You Give Love a Bad Name, will begin a string of live dates in June next year. The residency will mark the third anniversary of the band playing the first live concert at the venue in 2007.

Bon Jovi, originally from New Jersey, formed in 1983 and earned widespread commercial success for their third album, Slippery When Wet. The band have since sold over 120m albums worldwide.

The O2 residency forms a part of the Circle tour, which is expected to last two years. The band are the first to announce an O2 concert series of this kind since Michael Jackson's 50-night This Is It residency. Jackson died last June, before the concerts could be performed.

Rob Hallet, of promotional company AEG, said of the concerts: "When Jon Bon Jovi opened the O2 with the words, 'Hello London, welcome to your new home', little did he realise that we were already plotting to make it his new home!"

Bon Jovi's tenth album, The Circle, will be released on 10 November 2009. Full details of the summer concerts will be announced today at London's O2 Arena. You can watch the announcement live on the Bon Jovi website.

they were in bristol in 2008 on the wednesday and thursday i think....if they didnt do glastnbury then( and they had a nice glasto shaped hole.) they wont do it now....
