It depends what your comparing it to.

In comparison to other years (which only leaves 07 for me) it is a definate 10, I missed out a lot in 07 & the weather made everything difficult. By comparison, this year was perfect, it enevitably had its ups & downs but, the whole experience was cathartic.... as glasto should be :D

This is an odd thread. People who's festival didn't revolve around the use of chairs or the nuances of the tap water. Instead it sounds like you went to the world's best festival. :D

9/10 for me. A kind of equal to 2008.

This year was probably better for just - stuff - but last year was sweet victory after a rotten 2007 and the knives coming out.

The 10/10 could only be given to my first. I was mesmerised as soon as I saw over the fence and then ran around in a blizzard of booze and excitement for days. The first one is difficult to beat I think.

Roll on 2010. It's all lined up to be 9.5 :D

It was my first glastonbury at 39 , My partners 7th at 46 and my sons first at 15 , I think we would all give it a 10. I was totally in awe of the place and will definately be going back . Absolutely brilliant time , there are always gripes and moans but the pro's definately outway the con's. Roll on next year !! :blink:

I'm going to have to give it an 7.5/8.

Absolutely loved it but annoyed with myself that I didn't stay up later, explore shangri-la more and see more acts. Glasto's not to blame, I was being the good samaritan and looking after my first timer friend who was in bed by 1 every morning. I was also a bit lazy in the mornings and after waking, i'd sit around the tent chatting for ages rather than getting out and about. Really regret it now though. Was a weird one too after going with my now ex last year and walking round remembering it was the last place we were really happy together. Boo-hoo, end of feeling sorry for myself, sorry.

Bring on next year, I shall be unstoppable!!! And won't give a toss about my lightweight friend.

8, the group I was with was brilliant, saw some of the smaller acts who were great and have some excellent Glasto memories from this year. It isn't a 10 because of the fact that the heavens decided to open on the last night when I was at the Stone Circle!

Last years line up was better in depth than this years

2008 = 8.5 :)

2009 = 7 ;)

The 30 minute walk back to the campervan really ruined the festival for me. This year those who arrived first were put into the sodding overflow those that arried later ended up closer to the gates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:blink:

I'd give it an 8.

I'm not sure how people can give a 10 (or 11 :blink: ) when it rained most of Friday morning and was pretty muddy over all the main walkways and busy parts until the evening. That's the only reason I downgrade my score from top marks to an 8.

Absolute top marks would come from me only if there was no rain at all over the week, perhaps just a little shower ;)

it's easy to give it a 10 or 11 [as i have] if you think the festival transcends minor points :-) ... as it always does. i'd even give 1997 [perhaps the worst ever for rain/floods since 1988, which i didn't go to] a very high mark if only for the memories and sheer deep mud-wrenching experience.

We score all the bands we see each year out of ten too. It's one way to help remember afterwards who you saw.

On that basis this year's music didn't quite match the magnificence of 2008. I only had two tens for music on the acoustic stage and no tens on The Pyramid.

But the weather was excellent. The overnight rain helped keep down the dust.

Overall a 9 compared to last year's 10 but that's being really picky. It was still wonderful.
