I hate it on the other hand and I've loved so many previous editions.

Horses for courses..

Yeah apart from Charlotte de Whiite and although it doesn't bother me Robbie Williams being a big name that's very bad. Undercard does nothing either. Lily Allen is a good get but most of those names should be nowhere near the top of a 'major' festival.

I see no way of Lily for Werchter either, the spots she would take are gone. While there are '50 acts' still to go, the slope will cover half of those, there will be a bout of Belgium acts and the rest will be smaller.

Although this is not really my taste i can give them props for trying to build something decent on a very very crowded and competitive field.

I mean there’s Mad Cool and Cruilla on the same weekend in Spain and this without taking in mind Primavera and their booking agency.

I don’t really like Robbie Williams but i can see the appeal of him as a headliner. And there’s some really nice names down the line.

I guess the price is also very good for a three day festival, the organisation, the city. And they will always have the backing of the local authorities and bussnesses. It’s a great festival and i’ll always root for them to do well.

When do we get day splits?

From browsing around I know that:

Thu: David Byrne

Fri: Robbie Williams, Tomora, Belle & Sebastian

also know Alabama Shakes, Idles and CMAT are elsewhere on the Thursday so means BBK Fri or Sat

Anybody know of any others?

Hi!! I've been an ambassador for the BBK Live festival since 2018 (I think). Here's a link with a small discount. The link takes you directly to the ticket seller (Fever) and automatically applies the special ambassador price. As the months go by, it will be updated with any upcoming price increases, day ticket options, or other possible ambassador discounts. I hope this is helpful.

Thee Sacred Souls and Alabama Shakes are both playing on Friday.
Idles will most likely play on Saturday.

Where did you find Tomora's date? Btw, Charlotte is playing on saturday according to her web, Apparat and Fatoumata Diawara seem to be playing on Thursday. To sum up and if I'm not mistaken:

Thu: David Byrne, Apparat, Don West, Fatoumata Diawara, Xoel Lopez

Fri: Robbie Williams, Alabama Shakes, Belle & Sebastian, Tomora, Thee Sacred Souls

Sat: Idles, Charlotte de Witte

Adding Calvin Harris seems to have made this poster worse if anything. Was expecting a bit better than that.

100%.

Byrne is a great get of course but in general this is the weakest poster in years.

I am also very disappointed with the new additions. The only one that I like are Westside Cowboy. And I guess the line up is almost complete now apart from some dj's and small Spanish acts maybe.

I was hoping also that they would announce the daily line up and start with day tickets at a discount price, but no...

Weird move by them. Now they have two "proper" headliners instead of one, but neither seem to connect well to their core fanbase.

The announcement would went much smoother with more international artists. Hemlocke Springs (I didn't know she's touring EU in the summer) and Westside Cowboy are great additions though.

This article states that Richie Hawtin, Charlotte De Witte and Interpol are closing out the headliners.

This makes our puzzle a bit more complete knowing that Richie plays on Saturday on Mad Cool and Interpol on Friday.

And in several articles David Byrne, Robbie Wiliams and Lily Allen are named as the 3 headliners, so Lily should play on Saturday.

Based on his tour schedule Calvin Harris will play on Thursday.

And Zaz will probably play on Saturday.

So, if not mistaken:

Thu: David Byrne, InterpolCalvin Harris, Soulwax, Apparat, Don West, Fatoumata Diawara, Xoel Lopez

Fri: Robbie Williams, Richie Hawtin Alabama Shakes, Belle & Sebastian, Tomora, Thee Sacred Souls

Sat: Lily Allen, Idles, Charlotte de Witte, ZAZ

Not a fan of this year but jesus (apart from Harris) that is a banging first day.

It actually ended up okayish, with some depth and their typical diversity. I think it's the lack of one good "usual" headliner that makes it so bad-received. Like if Nick Cave or Florence were there instead of Mad Cool it would look so much better.
