Sziget 2026

The Oasis 'leak' is horsesheeeyite. Slane Castle gigs have taken place on a weekend ever since they began in 1982. It's 10 miles from Drogheda, 30 from Dublin, a 'mare to travel to and from.

They're not doing a Wednesday night there.

Looks like someone has cobbled a few expected dates. They look plausible though, the actual dates maybe not. They won't be at Sziget, thankfully.

Just quick assumptions on next years headliner:

- Olivia Rodrigo

- The Weeknd

- Florence + The Machine

- Yungblud + subhead (Twenty One Pilots?)

- [random mainstream DJ] + subhead

- A$AP Rocky

One consideration about the DJ: given the heavy presence of hard-techno in the night stages and the good feedback those stages scored (not on my end, but eh) - I would not flinch if the name would be something more lowkey like Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Witte or Armin Van Bureen (B2B with Indira Paganotto, i.e.).

Last two DJs have been Fred Again... and Anyma: both are surfing the wave, but we are miles away from Hardwell - Martin Garrix - Major Lazer - Avicii - Calvin Harris kind of stuff

Not seen you round these parts for quite some time @Yelo, the Parmiggiana

Prison or International Space Station?

Seems like Radiohead is going on tour. I know, I know… but what if?

If they do festivals, I can't really see them doing Sziget. They will do a fair few though. That being said my daughters 16, herself and her circle of friends are all over Radiohead. Far more popular than any of that era's bands.

They are my all time fave band, so would love them at Sziget.

I expect them to do the likes of Primavera, Roskilde, Werchter and maybe Way Out West, OYA if they are not in the states in August.

Ahahaha appreciate you noticing - I just took a hiatus from festivals in general.

Not that I am back in the game, but I got FOMO triggered by my friends to get to Sziget this year, so I still have to shrug it off I guess 😄

why not? because of the date or they would be expensive? they headlined sziget in 2006 and like you said they are popular with all ages, so maaaybe there is a little chance

More about the current party vibe Sziget is going for. I dont envisage more than one guitar band playing next year, I think they’ve had 1 in the last 2 years. That would be more main stream acts, notably foo fighters. Would they have 2 guitar bands from the 90s headlining in 2026? Don't see it personally.

Both Foo Fighters and Radiohead are big hitters who'll help to sell lots of tickets. If both are available promoters definitely try to sign them.
This year's festival got probably all of the biggest acts that were around as headliners. By the sad consequence none of them was a rock act (Iggy Pop or QOTSA unfortunately won't be able to headline Sziget's main stage these days).

Halsey on tour next year and playing 5,000 capacity venues in UK. Helps identify why 2024 line-up flopped I guess. I like her, but clearly not headline-sized.

Don’t think this tour identifies her size, it’s her first album in full so these are special one off gigs. Would be shocked if she didn’t sell them all out quite quickly.

yeah because Budapest have seen enough of her lol.. Idon't think they would book her AGAIN , after 2019 and 2023 ..

Certainly scope for her to play a 6 day festival.

Although no Budapest date on a Feb/Mar tour, isn't a indication either way for me. I would expect her to play European festivals in countries on the tour. Certainly one off werchter or pukkelpop, more likely pukkelpop. Which could point her doing the Sziget, Oya, Way out West, Pukkelpop, all points east, rock en seine route.

    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
    • Really like this! Few artists a bit low I reckon like the Reytons, Yard Act, the Royston Club and Florence Road but I’d absolutely take this!
    • Yeah Olivia Rodrigo walked right past me when leaving the crowd during The Cure set.   I had to escape where I was in the crowd so was just chilling in the bottom left corner when she walked through with a couple of others.    Thought it was her or someone who looked incredibly like her but no-one else seemed to pick up on it, either not bothered or just too engrossed in their own conversations to not notice..
    • Why?   It’s all made up nonsense, an illusion for the masses.   Who do we owe these numbers on a server to, and how will they collect them?
