A friend of mine was the head of the helpers this year, apparently there’s been some murmuring about Sziget not happening this year amongst the security crew. But probably just the same rumours.
Also lot more “incidents” this year than in previous years.

Didn't see any incidents or issues.

That would be a major shame, especially in a fallow year for Glastonbury so 180,000 people looking for potential alternative.

That’s exactly what I was thinking,I want to believe it was just rumours floating around. But fallow year for Glasto is a huge opportunity for Sziget to make 2026 profitable and not have to worry about cancelling the whole festival in 2027.

Messaged Sziget helpdesk. Rumours are categorically untrue. Sziget is happening in '26.

Rumours have never aimed at this year, because this year is happenning. Gossips say, however, that if next year won't be profitable, they might close the festival in 2027, as the only profitable year for them was 2022. This is the reason why they start selling tickets after the first salaries in September, they plan the lineup announcement earlier, to survive this financially not so appealing period that they are experiencing year by year.

I just noticed Sziget started to upload some concerts on yt from this year! The directing and cuts are horrible tho, but i'm glad i can watch Fat Dog and The Beaches again.

Fat Dog's live was incredible, too bad I missed it

Perhaps consider changing the artistic direction instead of throwing money at pointless pop acts with no following, not even on social media? I don’t know, maybe I’m just spitballing here.

Honestly, I even had trouble finding live shows of some of the minor names on YouTube this year

Who were the pointless pop acts with no following?

They are in this situation because of sh*tty lineup and they will end like Exit, but at least, Exit tickets was cheap

The reasons why they are struggling isn't really about the lineups. Lineups have never been particularly strong at sziget, one of the worst compared to other major festivals across Europe. I have been about 10 times, never chosen it for a lineup.

Its a bit deeper than that imo.

2022 was my least favourite Sziget, thought I was done with Sziget that year. Whilst the lineup was pretty good, they annoyed a lot of customers for there lack of effort outside the artists. Kind of took there audience for granted.

2023 and 2024 they would have lost more customers, due to the below average lineups even for Sziget.

2025 was better on both scores from 2022-2024. Problem is did they have the trust for people to come back? So much choice in Europe in August. Way out West, OYA, Pukkelpop, Untold to name a few. Or better lineups at big scale festivals like Roskilde, Werchter etc.

Also it really isn't a cheap festival any more, if thats a concern sziget isn't for you either. You go to other Eastern European festivals.

That being said I still love Sziget, but certainly missing big style between 2022-2024. Probably down to covid and inflation in Hungary. Non Hungarians, thats not there concern and would choose elsewhere.

Btw I’ve seen SO much content from creators with 500k-3million followers on tiktok who have been gifted the whole trip. I wonder if that helps Sziget in any way.

I believe it does. Especially if it's positive.

As much as older festival-goers like me dismiss content creators at times, they can certainly have an influence.

But all festivals do this now, so it's really a case of keeping up with the competition rather than racing ahead of them.

Yeah luckily everything I’ve seen was overwhelmingly positive. Same with new attendees,so many of them praising and saying it was the best week ever. Now imagine if they came to Sziget before covid haha

The Weeknd announced his Europe tour with Playboi Carti for 2026. He has dates for 4th August in Warsaw, 8th August in Stockholm, 14th August in London. He/They will be close to Hungary. I hope Sziget books him/them.

No chance.
