I think he had a normal shirt that appeared hi vis under certain lighting. There is one support for the first week, a different band for the second week, not sure the start time for them, must be before 8 if LCD started 8:45. This was the worst queue I’ve had other than for the flaming lips across several recent visits, for FL people would be going earlier than normal as they did 2 sets so everyone arrived at a similar time.

Going Sunday so will work timings back a cple of hrs. Yeah queuing is a pain since reopened. Have some sympathy given the context but doesn't make it less of a ball ache (i usually go in for support but other stuff means wasn't planning to on Sun which makes the queue a thing!). They seemed hell bent on 1 tckt per device too when i last went which was a faff as in transferring to my wife TM decided i was a bot.

Nevertheless one of my fav bands at prob my fav London music venue so looking fwd to it (and at Pulp tonight to kick off the summer gigs).

Yes tragic the reason it had to close for so long, but really glad that my favourite venue has been able to reopen.

I thought that was fantastic last night, sound was spot on but my god was it hot in there

Yeah can be v warm in there. How long was the queue last night (I've been in early for the support both times since it re-opened but won't be tonight so will need to allow a bit more time to get in I assume)

Big, we got there at 8.15 and were only just in for the start at 8.45

Do you think there is any chance that they could pop us as surprise guests at Glastonbury at all? Am really hoping that they might tag along with hot chip.

Doubt it very much having played last year

Superb as always, for me the best live act over the last decade or 2. Great mix of ages in the crowd. I love Brixton but it was v.hot as others warned.

Cheers for the warning re the queue @Barneym we skipped an extra drink outside and walked up about 50 mins before and other than the traipse round the block were in pretty quick. Caught back end of Friedberg supporting and they sounded alright.

Great weekend of gigs as a warm up to the next week.

A heads up for anyone going, they started about 8:45 despite not giving set times in advance, queue to get in was worse than normal going back to the high street, other than that all good

Queue worse than the normal meaning before the shutdown, or even worse than the new normal? 😬

Worse than the new normal which in my experience can be queueing from the point of being in front of the entrance but having yet to go around the block, here the queue went back to the high street and around the corner a fair bit

Superb gig last night. Might have a few quibbles on the setlist, but still fantastic. Queueing/getting in last night way better then my last visit there 6 months ago, and the sound was pretty good (I heard some nightmare stories from Wet Leg the other week). Kind of restored my faith in Brixton Academy after a couple of fairly sh*t experiences there in the latter half of last year.

Oh lordy. I'm also very anxious about their new policy of insisting on decanting water into cups so you either have to down it or have it flung everywhere as soon as you edge back into the crowd. Not being able to carry water when it's probably going to be 40°C+ in there on Saturday night sounds potentially night ruining.
