I was a metal fan, actually, but things moved on and nobody came to replace the old guard (which I assume is why people are still willing to pay this much to see Black Sabbath). Nah, I'm not contributing to their retirement fund.

Well firstly all proceeds go to charity and secondly there are some amazing metal bands out there. Definitely worth a revisit. Gojira and mastodon are both superb

All proceeds means what’s leftover after everyone has taken a slice of the pie

yeah i remember seeing them round that sort of time too in a small venue - astoria, SBE, t&c??

cant remember now - the only reason i remember even going is because i used to work at Tower Records at the time and thats how i got tickets.

Astoria - 1999? A proper venue (and we thought they were all too old then!)

I'll stop you there because that's not quite true. "All proceeds" would mean that all the money generated would go to charity. In this case, it's "all profits" will go to charity, which is the money left over after the bands take their fees (which I'm sure will be undisclosed).

B'jesus! It's not that I wouldn't pay that much - I literally couldn't!

same, I'd love to go to this, so many bands I love that i've never seen live, and some that just don't play at all these days - I see Sammy Hagar and Wolf Vanhalen, thats a shoe-in for some VanHagar tunes, ah man

but at possibly twice or more than Glastonbury but for just an afternoon, its just too much.

Is there Black Sabbath cheese I can buy perhaps?

I'm not willing to pay that, it is however a fantastic line-up for fans of the genre and sure to be an amazing day for those who have got tickets. I can see why fans would splash out if they have the cash.

With the chance of a car crash at the end...

just thought i'd have a look at TM for this, fully expecting it all to be sold out...

straight through, no queue, everything available...

maybe the tides have turned and people are realising they are straight up being mugged and are saying no thanks?

I'm 86000 in the queue so someone is telling porkies
