They simply must get Olivia Rodrigo. That Glastonbury set was magnificent. What a performer and what an unbelievable catalogue of stone-cold bangers in such a short space of time.

I fear she’ll take a break and come back to do stadiums on LP3

Otherwise, while still a v good booking, it would be classic modern Reading, getting the absolute arse end of a tour cycle

Ok I dont know how this would go down but is Lorde in the picture for 2026, new album out, I know theres been no HIT off it but she has a sold out arena tour back end of this year.

We say sold out, I had a look out of curiosity and there were lots of tickets to see her in Birmingham.

Though for some reason Birmingham shows seem to shift slower than several other UK cities do

O-Rod should be a must but I guess she will probably take some time off after this run, so:

Chase & Status + Lewis Capaldi

Sabrina Carpenter

Foo Fighters

Hate to say but Lewis isn't sharing headlining with anybody. Hozier for example did a sole Finsbury Park to co-headline and Capaldi will outsell that within minutes. I think you might be looking at something like:

Lewis, C&S/Lorde, Foos.

Lorder firs in the type of female acts I believe that would bring in C&S fans.

Lorde is btw if Olivia isn't on but as said she may take a breather to be fresh. I think she'll do stadiums next.

The prediction of the R1 returning is the best thing here

(although decent choices otherwise. Surely Idles would be a bigger draw than Royal Blood these days though?)

i just hope the lack of a radio 1 stage this year is just down to logistical issues

I reckon due to no one moaning their arse off about it not running at Leeds last year they thought they could prob bin it and not affect sales much.

Given the rest of the lineup, you’d suspect the lack of 27-30 less names will mean many people didn’t take the plunge

Sales may not be good this year but they’ll be worse next now that people know the R1 has been cut among others. Leeds goers seem more bothered about the LS23 being cut on socials.

LS23 going is a massive downer, tbf. It’s the most iconic part of Leeds’ nightlife. It’s been going strong for well over a decade and for it to just go with nothing to even replace it is bad.

Yeah agree. I thought nightlife at Leeds was actually pretty decent with Picadilly, LS23, + the other one (moved locations a few times. Was near purple camp at one point then most recently near blue - Anachronica or something like that?). LS23 always seemed packed too due to decent acts which is why I can't get my head around it. Maybe it's become a licensing issue now?

Been gone a while as not attending this year. But with the removal of the R1 there’s a significant chance I never return. It’s just watered down year on year with such a significant lack of options that what’s the point.

That being said with new Foos music I think they’ll be there next year, with Capaldi and someone else

Common denominator being the city... 👀

Foo Fighters will surely do their own stadium shows, why would they play Reading and Leeds? No act has done it as the front end of a tour cycle since Arctic Monkeys in 22

The festival no longer has the cachet to help promote artists, it’s a payday after they’ve exhausted their own demand

been going ever year since 2019 and i think last year will be the peak for me regarding Reading, sure this year the saturday is exciting for me but even my freinds look at the rest of the lineup excluding headliners and say its crap, if i didnt live so close to the festival i think id proably only go for the saturday and bin the rest off, the festival's uniqueness died with the pandemic and it'll never return to what it once was

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Noah

Kahan headline next year

I reckon so, it's the direction of the festival this year —

Noah Kahan, Sabrina Carpenter, Lewis Capaldi, 1975.

I'd love to see the festival do a U-turn and show solidarity with BV, Kneecap and now Fontaines. Fontaines to headline in 2027.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
