The sun is shining in the Steel City. As a Wednesday fan it’s been a horrific past few months. Pulp in Hillsborough Park, the stuff of dreams. Just need to ignore the back drop behind the stage. Have a cracking weekend everyone.

I'm with you @Dronx - definitely a bad Summer for all things SWFC.  Still debating whether to wear one of my Retro Wednesday shirts.

Does anyone know if it's a cup deposit scheme on the bar? Unsure whether to pack a couple of our ever-growing collection of plastic pint glasses or not.

Not last year, and there's nothing on the web site

Was it wristbands for weekend tickets btw or just a scanning job?

Was daily wristbands last 2 years, plus scan from PDF

Which makes no sense for weekend tickets, as very easy to switch people

Any have an idea of what are the bar prices like inside?

6-7 for BrewDog cans look to be 440ml. Nipping over to the craft beer tent in a bit

Fantastic set, and nice they threw a couple of rarities in - I had a feeling they'd do Sheffield Sex City, but didn't see the Miner's Strike coming. And the new album tracks sound just as good live as the older stuff. Very happy to see Hawley join them for a few songs too, and only sad they didn't play Something's Changed this time

I don't think Tramlines will ever top that!

Only reason I was bothered (on paper) today was Pulp. Never managed to make our paths cross since they reformed and they’re one of the few bands I had left on my “must see” list. Have you ever built a gig up in your head so much that the expectations of the band are almost unfair and basically unattainable?

Thats what I thought was going to happen last night and even then, Pulp were absolutely magnificent.

The day itself was quite surprisingly enjoyable for me; saw I Monster, (some of) Baxter Dury, John Grant and Hot Chip (all entertaining) but the day belonged to the headliner really.

It’s been said but seeing them with Richard Hawley, the few rarities sprinkled in there, finally seeing some of the defining tunes of my growing up like Disco 2000 and Common People (basic I know but when you’ve never seen them one, it hits different), all was just an absolute melting pot for a gig I’ll remember for a very very long time!

Overall it was a great weekend of music.

Pulp were the stand outs but that was always going to be the case. I do find Reytons quite average musically, but they did put a good live show on. I opted for Sigrid on Sunday and she was incredible, a much smaller crowd than expected. Outside of the headliners, Franz Ferdinand, The Last Dinner Party, and John Cooper Clarke were my stand outs.

It did feel a strange atmosphere in the crowd this year, throughout Pulp’s set the crowd around us were wrapped up in conversations and this was near the front. The atmosphere felt off compared to previous years. The queues on the Sunday on Penistone Road were ridiculous too, around 45 minutes to get in, you’d think they’d have better crowd management by now

Tramlines was a nice fest and pleasant to finally visit Sheffield.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  The 6 song stretch from Sheffield: Sex City (which I was delighted to hear) through to Do You Remember the First Time? would arguably have been a wee bit challenging for the casual punter.  Nice to see a young looking crowd 🙂

Was a fair amount of chatter in the crowd, but I was fairly far back.

Went to Sidney and Matilda for Alexis Taylor's DJ set but not before first unfortunately going to a horrific club called "Corporation".  When will I ever learn...

A bit of a topsy turvy weekend for me. Pulp were sublime, and some other good stuff on Friday too notably JCC and Baxter Dury), but didn't get to see all I wanted as late afternoon the site was too full to move around comfortably.

The demographics on Saturday were very different, hordes of kids moving around in large groups, chatting through everything. Again the site felt too full. Enjoyed Franz and the Futureheads despite this.

Sunday had great potential, CMAT was outstanding, but should've had a longer set on the main stage. Enjoyed the Clause, Red Rum Club and Cliffords. Kasabian were OK, but Serge seemed to be hankering after being back at Truck and they did a short set, about 20 mins less than scheduled.

Sat and Sun overall, too many average, samey indie guitar bands.

Biggest issues - too many people on site at peak times. Crowd management around the tents... a big wall of geezers around the entrances (especially Leadmill), and once you've fought your way in, quite a bit of space. And restricting the outflow from T'Other to one side when there's literally no-one coming down the other side. Oh, and beer choices... BrewDog meh, and 5 IPAs as the craft beer offering.

Btw, getting in at Middlewood Road was easy all 3 days mid afternoon.
