Open'er Festival 2025

Exactly! But the stage times are okay, I was surprised Doechii starts so early, and I am a bit disappointed about the Massive Attack/Magdalena Bay clash. I guess I will leave MA a bit earlier, as I have seen them many times.

I maintain out of all of the "mainstream artist" festivals on mainland Europe this year, Open'er has the most complete line up. Looking at the quality, relevancy and rarity of who they've booked I think they've got a really good mix. If I was going I'd never be wanting for seeing something.

No big clashes for us this time. Some "smaller" decisions to be made, but it seems like it's gonna be a very nice weekend. Hopefully the weather won't try to ruin it 😄

Hi all! First timer at Open'er.

 

I got two day passes (Fri-Sat) with camping and the questions arise: Will there be enough camping space after two days of festival? We're two people (just one tent) so hopefully we'll find some space. How are temps normally?

Hello! Sorry, I probably won't be too helpful, as last time I was camping at Open'er was either 2015 or 2016. However, I don't recall the camping site being overcrowded, so I think you should be good 🙂

Hi, last time I was camping at 2022 edition and there was enough space for people coming only for weekend. So do not worry, you will be able to get some space for your tent 😉

So what are your thoughts everyone? Pretty solid edition for me.

That Saturday crowd was massive, felt like twice as many people compared to the previous three days.

Fcukers and Zaho de Sagazan are my discoveries of the festival, brilliant sets from both.

Went for the first time. I had a great time. The organization was pretty much flawless. I was in Gdansk and the train + shuttle bus worked very well every single time. Also, as it starts around 6pm it gives enough time to do things around Gdansk. I also liked an almost alcohol free experience due to no bars in the main area 😄 Don't think I saw one drunk person at the festival over 4 days. 

 

That festival area is massive, didn't feel crowded at all even during the Linkin Park day. Seems like it can fit 2x the number of people coming.

 

Highlights from the headliners were NIN and Massive Attack, the main reason I wanted to go there as they were the only festival with both this year. From the undercard - FKA Twigs, probably the best thing of the festival in general, and Doechii, despite me only knowing two songs I think she'll headline major festivals in a few years

I see we have the same taste! MA and NIN were the main reason for me as well and I liked FKA Twigs the most 🙂 As for Doechii, I probably stood on the wrong place (as I was quite back), but the basses were too heavy, I almost couldn't hear the vocals on some songs as it was all bass. For me, Magdalena Bay was another stand-out from the undercard, left MA early to see her and was not disappointed at all.

The organization is incredible, the camping is top notch, and the festival area is massive and with a lot of things to do. Ton of food options, 0 wait lines, and good prices.

 

Concerts were great too. My favourite was Justice. 

 

Only complaint is the distribution of artists and stages. Putting the 4 main artists in the main stage on the most crowded day is not a good idea.

It was my first Open'er Festival since 2017. Not much had changed, but they're definitely working to deliver a better experience. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for their booking, announcements, and communication with attendees.

As for the music, I had the best time seeing NIN, Massive Attack, Linkin Park, Justice, FKA twigs, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Muse, and Brutalismus 3000. f**kers, Maribou State, Caribou, Little Simz, JPEGMAFIA, and Magdalena Bay were also good, but unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, I only caught half of the Magdalena Bay and JPEGMAFIA sets. Antony Szmierek gets a special mention – that was great! My biggest disappointment was Future; I left after two songs.

While I'm far from being a gatekeeper, I wasn't impressed with most of the new TikTok stars, though Doechii was probably the best of them.

 

I'm still not satisfied due to the communication issues and late announcements. I prefer festivals where I know most of the lineup months in advance, so that's still a big negative for Open'er.

They don;t sell alcohol? How does that work at a festival? That'd be a major turn off for me! Haha

They sell mid strength beers in the arena area fyi. Heineken silver, or at least they did the year Queens and Kendrick played

beer dosn't agree with me so that'd be a bit rubbish for me tbf! I remember this festival having a weird alcohol policy when I looked at it a number of years ago, actually. I seem to remember they don;t allow alcohol even in the camping area. It put me off back then.

Think The Cure will be here tomorrow. They postponed their show there in 2019, were due to headline in 2020 (with perhaps one of the best single days in the festivals history with Foals/The Killers/The Cure/The Chemical Brothers all playing back to back on the main stage) and it's never materialised since. 

That sounds a bit Coachella like and even they allow drinks to be taken into the main field now. Its isn't officially said but it is recognised as allowed. It would surprise me if people picking up on that helped sales

I think it has its upside with no flying cups throwing beer over you, but otherwise it's a complete bummer.

 

And I don't usually drink much at festivals, but it's nice to have a drink while watching a concert from afar. The amount of money they are losing must be something, but that's up to them.

 

And with all of that I happened to have the luck of being around drunk guys at every concert even in the front lines, specially in Justice.

That's not on the organizers. It's the Polish law about large events. I know sometimes in stadiums they don't even have alcohol at all. 

 

The lack of alcohol, as a lot of people aren't bothered to drink a lot, also means that the crowd was way more chill than it could be. I don't think I saw anyone drunkenly sleeping on the grass, making a scene, or being obnoxious, etc.

sounds like a bit of a snoozefest!!! lol
