Well... that was a bit disappointing. But happy for Wunderhorse, saw them last year supporting Fontaines D.C., and they were brilliant.

I would guess Sabrina or Drake were supposed to be the original pop headliner.

yeah, there are some good names in this drop (Jorja, Wunderhorse, Neil Frances, Fcukers), but cmon - over 2 months of waiting for that? We still need at least one headliner (Friday) and one co-headliner (Wednesday)...

I think it really hurt them to go radio silent for two month and then announcing this. There are lot of names that would have created quite a buzz had they been announced separately (Jorja, J Balvin, Peso Pluma), but as a whole, it felt kinda underwhelming.

I am not sure if Drake could still be the missing headliner for Friday? As HAIM and Lorde are seemingly teasing new albums, might any of them still be in (not as headliners though)? Or maybe Bon Iver with his album being released today?

The social media reaction was pretty awful.

no idea about Haim, they only seem to be doing sporadic shows (big weekend , primavera) , would be random to go to Poland.

Little to no chance of Lorde, she’s just starting her rollout of the first single and she wouldn’t announced anything until the album and tour are announced . I reckon she will do festivals next year

Wonder who was the original plan for the pop headliner. Doesn't seem they got their preferred ones

That's a terrible announcement for a wait that long.

I'm gonna say it again: I think we're missing only the Friday headliner. Then Gracie Abrams is the Wednesday's co-head and Nine Inch Nails headline Thursday.

Judging by their last announcement clearly they've lost a headliner for Friday and they're struggling with a proper replacement. That's the most probable reason for announcing the rest of the acts so late. I doubt they could lose THREE big acts. There's a lot of popular names in the line-up already anyway.

People wanted a headliner and I think that's why this last batch was so poorly received. There's quite a few acts I'm happy about (Arca, AG Cook, Wunderhorse, Fcukers), my gf likes Jorja Smith a lot, that Zaho de Sagazan girl seems really cool too.

I just hope the next announcement comes soon 😄

They are definitely missing something as that's a pretty bad lineup.

Have there been instances in the past where an artist ended up being a headliner, even though they weren't initially listed as one in the announcement post?

No (at least not from 2011 upwards)

Hi all,

I'm pretty tempted by this festival this year but I'm just curious if anyone has been here before and could share any experinces? What's the campsite like, offerings aside from the bands and what the audience sizes are like, as well as sharing anything else?

Thanks!

guessing this wasn't their first choice for that Friday headliner slot. Very surprised there is no pop/rap headliner (based on previous editions)

Yeah, just by judging the lineup of that day you can see they wanted a pop headliner there.

Muse came in instead of Foo Fighters for some festivals already so I guess they're a replacement for something else as well 😄

  • 2 weeks later...

I am not sure if there will be any tbh.

2.7. - Massive Attack/Gracie co-headline

3.7. - Future/NIN co-headline

4.7. - Muse

5.7. - Linkin Park

Maybe some pop name to co-headline 4th with Muse? With Doechii's fame skyrocketing this year, I think they could sell her as a co-headliner to LP.

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
