At this point if Bad Omens are there, I'd put them 3rd down main or headlining second again. We won't have a a sizeable tour from them to suggest they could sub in my opinion.

Bad omens could sub, they are massive, they’d pull a bigger crowd than architects

Here’s my go at a prediction

IMG_1150.jpeg

Skindred would play that 5th down main at Download. Converge unlikely in my opinion as would be putting McFly there not learning from the Busted mistake. Personally think McFly have no place there anyway. Jimmy Eat World clashing with Green Day seems a very odd choice and would expect them main or subbing second. Dropkick Murphys won't be lower than 3rd for me. Download have got a very good chance to tailor a day very much to Green Days strengths with bands that actually won't cost a lot. I think Frank Carter and the Sex Pistols actually have a good chance to be at Glastonbury.

There’s no reason for Bad Omens to jump to sub. There’s been no new music, no tour.

There’s no reason for Korn to jump to headliner either, but that hasn’t stopped Copping.

Bad Omens could announce an arena tour tomorrow and it would sell extremely well. I’d argue they’ve jumped in popularity since being booked previously.

Edit: completely hypothetical, but I’d wager they could shift more tickets than Korn on an arena run.

Bad Omens headlining 2nd while Deftones sub Sleep Token is my guess, no clashes.

Side note, but Download always say no clashes but then give you 5 minutes to get between the stages which just isn't possible. They really should go to a dual main stage set up if they wanna do the no clashes thing.

Excuse me? Why are you making things personal? I’m entitled to an opinion.

What I said in the post was relevant to Bad Omens, I wasn’t particularly knocking Korn.

I thought it was an oddly rude response, too.

Apologies I should have responded in a different way, let tiredness get the better of me.

I’ve got them 5th down. Tbh I wasn’t sure about who to put headlining 4th, the fact that Yellowcard and JEW will be about makes me think they’ll be there but hard to fit them on main with the potential bands that will be around.

Feel like Dropkicks would accept a main stage slot for the right fee as DL and SD are the only festivals they could play now so it’s that or nothing. Considering Spiritbox and Sex Pistols are likely that’s probably 2 of your 3rd down mains as Sex Pistols will probs go with the money, can’t see Glasto being bothered about them. Depends if Pierce The Veil are gonna go on tour next year I suppose.

McFly could easily do Download, no different to Busted doing it. Stick someone a bit bigger against them on main and I think you’d be fine. Be a great atmosphere in the tent.

Latest attempt:

Didn’t give my thoughts on this

Deftones into Feeder would be a great Friday evening.

Wouldn’t be leaving the main stage Saturday unless it was for food/drink or toilets.

I’d attempt to see MIW, Beartooth, BFMV, Bad Omens & Korn on the Sunday.

Would be well worth a weekend ticket for that.

I actually meant Skindred would be higher than 5th down. I can't see anything other than JEW being 4th down on the Green Day day. They aren't a band that are going to sell mega tickets for another day to separate them from being the same day. Frank Carter, JEW and then The Interuppters if about makes sense. It's also a case of Green Day being so much different from what Download usually book that a lot of what is going to appear on days of ST and Korn aren't directly going to appeal to Green Day undercard bands.

I'd absolutely wager than, I don't think Korn would sell that massively on an arena tour. They sold 25k tickets in a park in the biggest city in the UK while a band that also did the same and got a big crowd subbed. Korn are headlining this year because Green Day are costing a packet and Muse said no. It's just easier letting them finally do it rather than asking another 18 bands like this year.

They also sold out Pierce Hall at 6000 capacity and Scarborough Open Air Theatre at 8000 capacity.

39000 tickets across 3 dates, all sold out, is pretty good going.

Yes but go and find me the bands that can outright headline a major UK festival that have played Scarborough open air. And I'll also note I reckon it's one of those venue's that will pull in decent acts like Halifax Piece Hall but none of then are headlining your top major music festivals. They hold a unique booking I'd say and Scarborough especially away from a lot of other places but small and open. A little like Swansea Singleton Park just a bit bigger. There is multiple times a band has sold 39k but not headlined an 80-90k capacity event....and there is a reason for that. I'm not taking anything away from then being a popular booking but that's what they are.

I think there is a word about Interrupters tour in August, don't think they will flying twice to Europe

A little day with Linkin Park, Papa Roach and The Interrupters on it.

Also, does it make Rise Against more likely for this with only a Manchester date for their 2025 early tour? I've literally got bands coming out everywhere for me in a no money year. The Offspring with a new album witj simple plan joining....literally hitting the the nail on the head. Disturbed with three days grace potentially and now rise against.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
