Official announcement on the 12th according to a chap on the forums with a new Download podcast. Chunk of bands and village info. Be an odd one to make up as a 9 year old member starting a pod.

Sleep Token - song called High Water

Green Day - water is green if you put green food colouring in it and I often drink water in the day

Korn - taken from Google - "Water, whether provided via rainfall or irrigation, is essential for c(k)orn production"

BOOM

Over 60 names, so probably 61 lol is a fair amount of bands to give an idea of if its for you or not. That's enough to fill a fair portion of main stage, second stage and some of Avalanche with other bits.

I know it's cheaper for the US bands to do a US fest but honesty with this kinda line up they must be having some bands for free or even charging them like Ozzfest used to.

Also sidenote, Metallica and Linkin Park did the first Sonisphere....would be a dream for those 2 to team up again for a Soni return or a new fest in July.

Tickets are like $360 after fees and they offer loads of VIP options without having camping, needing the site for as long as a Uk fest or needing lots of infrastructure as the location is at a purpose built festival grounds with toilets, power and plumbing etc already in situ.

Wow $360 for one day is extortionate! Especially as all the bands clash anyway.

Yeah $400 for one day is madness and that's without a booking fee. Makes WWWY look cheap.

Outrageous isn't it. And like @northernangelhas said they have upped it to $400 plus fees for GA, $550 plus fees for GA+ (access to a lounge, air conditioned toilets, GA+ entry lane and lockers - which you have to pay extra for) or $650 plus fees for VIP (same as GA+ along with a front viewing area at the main stages, phone charging station and a VIP merch stall which gives you priority access to buy merch)...

Those extras aren't worth it just for a day.

I hate the front viewing area thing, absolutely sucks when you are charged to get a better view.

Just had a look at the Download RIP options that have been put on sale. Absolute rip off as well.

Such a weird place for the Flaming Lips to turn up 😁 i love em, and wish more people would see them, but it would take quite some deviation from their normal setlist to even think about being heavy enough

When will it be the UK's turn? 😞

Gotta be next year surely?

If we're not getting anything next year I doubt it's going to be done.

Yeah agreed. If it is next I would suspect a January announcement.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
