For what it is worth, I can confirm he's shifted 92,641 copies so far of the new record at today's update.

And for a similar note, here are some musicians wearing football shirts.

I have no issue with a singer wearing a football shirt, what I find weird is a whole fan base wearing that shirt to a gig

I also am not denying he is selling albums but making the point he is not selling out a London venue which are often the first to sell out on big tours which I think says something about how universally popular he is

Those are all one offs. The Sam Fender/Newcastle United thing is just plain weird though. His gigs in Newcastle are like Nuremberg rallies.

Exactly , this is a thread to discuss the potential headliners. Why shouldn't we pass comment? A band like them is so underwhelming, especially compared to some headliners over the years.

AC/DC are touring and playing in Scotland in August. They are far from my favourite band, but they are more like a band worthy of headlining Glastonbury. Not tripe like 1975, who let's face it, opinions are very divided. At least with other headliners like Beyonce or Kendrick Lamar. I'm not a fan of their music on a personal level but can appreciate they are good at what they do.

Other than your personal dislike of them and the fact they divide opinion (neither of which are valid reasons), by what metric are they not 'worthy' of a headline slot? Because pretty much every subjective metric proves they are.

The guy just said he finds them underwhelming.

In a thread full of personal opinions, not sure why people are going for him.

He said they're not worthy of a headline slot.

Not sure why I'm not allowed to question that.

He actually said AC/DC are more worthy headliners than 1975 which might statistically be true.

He also said 'why shouldn't we pass comment' 🙂

I haven't said he shouldn't comment, why are people always fast to go down that route? I want to know why he considers 1975 not worthy of a headline slot.  I know it's a discussion board - I'm trying to have a discussion but you're jumping in to point out it's his opinion - I know it is, and I'm giving mine. I don't see the issue.

I think the whole idea of a forum is that anyone can pass comment and anyone can agree or disagree with it.

As this is the headliner forum we should perhaps all remain focussed on that topic?

Who people think it will be this year?

Im gonna go out on a limb here but I think it could be The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo

PS ….. that comment is supposed to be ironic

What do we think of greenman line up?

Pretty solid for the size of it to be fair

On first read through - that’s solid. For the size of festival and type of festival Green Man is - that will be a superb weekend.

I like the design of the poster too if that means anything

It's a great little festival and they've done really well.

A lot on there I don't know which is what's great about the smaller festivals

I think 1975 are shite. But I'm not allowed to say that unless I pass comment on the other headliners so:

Neil Young isn't a headliner because Michael E likes him, he's a headliner because he's a massive headliner sized act. He won't get as big a crowd as Elton or as small as SZA. This is important for some reason. He's pushing 80 and plays folk so it won't be energetic for those watching on TV with their takeaway. Good. Won't somebody think of the takeaway watchers.

Don't know Olivia Rodrigo, music seems catchy enough, I'm sure she'll do well.

All three are worthy headliners by the measure of them being big enough to headline glastonbury. If I don't like an act i will go see another act I do like, and be very happy about it.

Why have Chic headlining when they are on the bill lower down, meaning you can have a bigger headliner, making a better overall lineup on paper, and still get Chic. Makes no sense. If you want to see party music as a headliner you can use your feet to transport yourself to some party music headlining. Lovely.

How dare you use irony on an eFestivals forum. 😁

Exacly.  If you don't like it use your feet.

Or, takeaway watchers, you'll have options if you press your red button.

I'll have an Indian on the Friday and a Chinese on the Sunday. Saturday is pot luck day.

To be honest, takeaway watchers should have eaten way before headliner time otherwise you're asking for indigestion.

Re: Neil Young. Does he play Hey Hey, My My or Rockin' in the Free World? Remember there was a point where you got one or the other, though that may not be the case anymore.

Could be wrong but I think Hey Hey has been sidelined since 2009, and Rockin has had a few airings since.

Anythings on the table with the new rabble, would hope Hey Hey makes a return to action.
