2025 Headliners

Apart from a lack of a repeat headliner this feels realistic to me.

Unfortunately, I reckon Swift has to be considered a long shot at best until at minimum 2026 and probably a little way beyond that.

After 2 years of touring one of the biggest shows ever (both in terms of money, and also production), where she's performing 3+ hour sets each show (and famously having her fingers in most of the non-musical aspects as well), surely 2025 will be the recharge the batteries / work on new material year.

Very little chance of the Eras Tour being back in Europe summer 2025 - and even less chance of Swifters spinning up a bespoke show for festival audiences.

Even if the Eras tour came back around again - that alone would be enough to 100% rule her out. It was never realistic for people to suggest she'd pop over to Glastonbury in the middle of other dates. Just need to watch the tour film to see how difficult it'd be to transplant it to an entirely different stage.

Make that Gaga and get rid of Fender. maybe replace with Rhianna, and we have a decent set of headliners

I think it's more likely to be Fender at this point if only one of those. Both big enough but Fender has the outdoor shows already to go with, while Dave does bring the diversity for Glastonbury.

I also fully wouldn't rule out them having two female headliners next year after trying this year, but I don't think they would just do that for anyone and I don't find Rihanna myself an option for that.

I couldn't even think how long she had toured for.

2036 for me at best

Won't set up a new thread for this yet since we haven't got this years lineup, but I've just thrown together a speculative idea of how I think 2025 could shape up.

If you take Cher and Gaga out I'd genuinely chuck my ticket back in. That isn't £360

So you wouldn't chuck it back in if they were there?

I'd honestly consider it to be honest as I'd watch 5 maybe acts on that lineup and two of them clash so for me I'm probably picking up tickets for those and savings myself holiday time that could be used elsewhere.

It's no reflection on you but at touching £375 likely next year, the lineup becomes more and more in question. I've done it long enough that I know where the quirky bits are etc and I've been to them.

I like this, but your chance of getting The Strokes in seems slim. Ozzy also very much a bit of wishful thinking, but I like that.

Still would rather see Gaga and Rihanna top in separate years. Both a different breed of pop artist, obviously, but I'd rather spread that love.

I think Swift for a few years from now but not next year. Less sure as to when that would be. Is 2026 the next fallow year?

Not confirmed yet, but best guess is 2028, maybe 2027.

I'm assuming 2027 will be a fallow year?

2024: Dua Lipa / Coldplay / Stevie Wonder
2025: Dave / Lady Gaga / Billy Joel
2026: The 1975 / Rihanna / Pearl Jam
2028: Olivia Rodrigo / Harry Styles / The Killers
2029: Sam Fender / Taylor Swift / Foo Fighters

(I'm bored this morning.)

It was suggested by someone else that 2028 could be the fallow year given the UK is hosting the Euros in June/July that year. Also gives them some more time to recover from any covid losses.

But yeah, 2027 or 2028, probably.

All over this - got my 3 favourite artists (2 of them clash mind you!)

That's a pretty good shout for a fallow year in fairness, especially given 2020 and 2021 being inadvertant fallow years means that when 2028 comes around, it'll still have been 6 Glastonbury summers in a row and pre-covid, that seemed to be the pattern.

Plus obviously during the 2012 Olympics there was the lack of porta-potties and other apparatus, and while the Euros isn't just all in London, it's still something to take into account.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
