Hellfest 2024

They changed their dates for 2024, one week later than the previous years. In a recent interview, Ben Barbaud answers a question about a potential big headliner like RammsteinAC/DC and Metallica. He kinda said it's not gonna be one of them: Metallica came recently, AC/DC isn't really a festival band and Rammstein isn't in their best time (speaking about their singer issues I guess). I'm wondering if they gonna have a surprising/big/different headliner in 2024...

I hope they'll give BMTH an headliner spot. They sold out Bercy last Summer (20k). Their headliners are always so old...

- Headliners: Aerosmith, Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me The Horizon, Judas Priest, KoRn, Machine Head, Sabaton, System Of A Down, Tool...
- Undercards: Corey Taylor, BabyMetal, Limp Bizkit, Falling In Reverse, Bad Omens, Bruce Dickinson, Sick Of It All, Amorphis, Opeth, Alestorm, Voyager, Bury Tomorrow, Alpha Wolf, Shadow Of Intent, Madball, Fu Manchu...

Surprised to see thisannouncement before any teasing. But sick to see Foo Fighters there as headliners. Queens Of The Stone Age and Royal Blood too. Bad Omens are really high which is a great news. BabyMetal, Nova Twins, Brutus... great start!

Info: Foo Fighters will close the festival on June 30th.

With all the comments I read on Download section about Foo Fighters who don't want to play on metal festivals, this is a great answer. Even if I'm wondering if the festival didn't put the name "Infernopolis" above and bigger "Hellfest" just because of that. Trying to look less metal and more rock'n'roll. I know the festival had rock big bands before but not so many at the same time: Foo's + QOTSA + Royal Blood... Still remember the story about The Prodigy who were supposed to play in 2010 and pull out because of the line-up being too metal... Just sayin'.

HellFest has never been a METAL Festival ; it's an Extreme Music Festival.

So far we only have 24 names, about 160 missing... But considering Nova Rock, Download, RockAmRing are gonna drop more Rock names by early November, HellFest just wanted to give some of their "rock names" before the others. That's all.

OK I havent been following much of the rock / metal front lately, but looking at Hellfest now, its 4 days again? and FF are only first of 4 heads? So which other 3 mega bands are touring next year in that genre?

I cant think of anything now, unless they have SOAD, RATM and similar size stuff.

Can Avenged headline Hellfest ?

Avenged headlined last time they played

i believe two of the other headliners will be them and BMTH, don't know about the fourth one but it will not be anything massive since they already got Foo's

careful lol 😉

Yep Avenged Sevenfold is supposed to be the 2nd headliner actually ; Aerosmith was in very good position to be the 3rd, but Steven Tylers' problems with his voice make it difficult now..

Playing 2 nights like they did at Download (and on this whole tour)? The band is available between Copenhagen on June 16th and Warsaw on July 5th... Zegut often had some good informations, especially so close to the festival's announcement... It would be a huge year once again in terms of big acts. But not my thing...

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
