It did run live, just doesn't show on netweather for some reason... It is available on wetterzentrale, much of the same though....

This morning's GFS is a little concerning, as the UKMO shows increasing chances of rain Saturday and Sunday too, so they're both somewhat in agreement... But we all knew that, until we were there, predicting the Friday, Saturday and Sunday is next to impossible. Still time for a few couple more ups and downs on the actual weekend itself... 🤞

Party pooper

I'm on the coach, I'll have to leave mine in your car too

Personally if it was me I would wear them to the site then switch to trainers once you've put your tent up.

You never know with this country if the weather might suddenly change!

Would it be insane to go trainers only? Leaving the boots behind would cut down a lot of weight...

It would have to be a Michael Fish level blunder to be anything other than trainers right now. The ground is a desert and rain forecasted won't have any effect on the site

Do you have trail or hiking shoes? They seem like the ideal middle ground.

Nah just huge heavy duty ones. I'm a city boy, I don't really do practical. The last time I went camping I got lost in some fields, got scratched/stung to bits then fell in a river

I think boots for the journey is the way forward

Anyone know that the ECMWF is saying to it?

This will be my 9th UK camping festival since 2012 (4th Glasto). Have only worn trainers to all of them I.e never had a bad weather festival. Thank you weather gods.

Lucky.

Think I've said this elsewhere on this forum but for Reading 2011 I turned up for a day trip to see Muse play Origin in full and hadn't realised how wet the Friday and Saturday had been. The ground was basically all mud and the moshpit during Muse's first song was like a f**king ice rink.

doesnt take much to turn the ground sloppy ... id at least wear walking boots shoes in / then change to trainers .... boots do give better support with wood chip though and might help with not turning an ankle

I'd echo this. Last year we arrived and it looked lovely so left the car wearing trainers with all our stuff. While queueing it rained, everything got slippy and we both managed to completely stack it before we got to putting our tent up. Had to spend the next few hours caked in mud wishing we'd just worn the walking boots that were still back in the car.

Yeah it's a mad streak. There's actually been soo many heatwave festivals in that list too - 2018 Bestival, 2019 Glasto, Lost Village 2022 and Glasto 2023 were all absolute scorchers.

I *think* 2022 BoomTown went on record as the hottest ever UK festival as it was in the mid 30s solid for 5 days.

Every streak that has a beginning has an end.

Though a 100% dry festival record would be pretty remarkable.

    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
    • Really like this! Few artists a bit low I reckon like the Reytons, Yard Act, the Royston Club and Florence Road but I’d absolutely take this!
    • Yeah Olivia Rodrigo walked right past me when leaving the crowd during The Cure set.   I had to escape where I was in the crowd so was just chilling in the bottom left corner when she walked through with a couple of others.    Thought it was her or someone who looked incredibly like her but no-one else seemed to pick up on it, either not bothered or just too engrossed in their own conversations to not notice..
    • Why?   It’s all made up nonsense, an illusion for the masses.   Who do we owe these numbers on a server to, and how will they collect them?
