Lollapalooza Paris 2023

Eh. If you like those kinda acts, sounds like you're in for a nice time, but not for me Clive.

Saying that it is now a 3 day one and given this is a very tiny quantity of acts towards what tends to be a quite genre-mixed festival (at 2018's visit I recall Zara Larsson into Stereophonics and also Kasabian > Travis Scott > Depeche Mode) so there'll probably be something different in the next tranche.

Bloody hell! Even worse than Lolla Berlin.

Indeed! I thought it was not possible but damn... A few days ago, we still hoped Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now, we have Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X...

Kendrick Lamar is miles better than Billie Eilish and her 2 albums or RHCP and their notoriously shit live show 😂

Point is Kendrick Lamar isn't a pathetic name, hes a massive booking who has headlined glastonbury etc

Speaking about some big names saying it's 'pathetic' is not helping your cause at all 🙂

Anyway. This edition is not for me. Not a interesting topic for me anymore.

PS: Billie Eilish headlined Glastonbury in 2022.

Well aware, I was just saying you shouldn't be disappointed with kendrick 😂

They announced 2h ago that new names are coming very very soon. They announced this almost at the same time Rock En Seine announced their names... would be weird and not fair-play they announce today new names. Even if they would need a strong announcement to let people forget already about Rock En Seine!

When you think it can be worst... They really changed their vibes this year. Rock is gone.

I thought maybe Black Pink were gonna be announced but it's Stray Kids in the end...

Don't know if I'm just out of touch, but the only names on the Friday that I have heard of are Picture This and Maisie Peters, not even heard of Stray Kids?! Kendrick and Rosalía though are decent bookings, and I rate some of the undercard names like Lil Nas X, Kygo, J.I.D, Central Cee and San Holo.

    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
    • FFS why when there are pull outs does it always include so many of the names I had as must sees!
    • This is a pretty petulant stance.   I oppose him headlining because I love coming to Slam Dunk and he would be a very big reason why I wouldn't come. That doesn't mean they can't choose to do so, they obviously can, I would just stop coming to that version of Slam Dunk.   Another name that I'll throw out there as name I'd love is Biffy Clyro.
    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
