They didn’t even have any prices on - the Wembley diagram was the weird one with seats supposedly right round the back of the stage which provoked that dreary conversation last night. Was almost certainly gonna be wrong and so it has proved.

Ah okay. I must admit I glossed over a lot of the discourse last night 😴 so I missed this...

Listening to Speak Now TV and fuming all over again at only one of these songs being on the setlist

Speak Now feels like the biggest leap in production quality over the original so far. Sounds much better musically IMO. Lots of extra flourish from the guitars.

Isn't the expectation that:

(a) because songs that are in the setlist get streamed a lot, and until today she didn't get paid when Speak Now was streamed, but now she will - and

(b) because she's now going to be promoting Speak Now to coincide with the release...

That lots more of these songs are going to start appearing in the setlist?  I assume we'll find out in Kansas City tonight...

What on earth gets cut though? Can't see anything from Lover through to Midnights being trimmed, and the stuff from the other albums is fairly essentially. Perhaps a track gets trimmed off the Reputation section?

If you could just add in one track from Speak Now to the regular setlist, what would it be? Long Live all day long for me.

Absolutely agree. The strings on Sparks Fly are gorgeous. The ’vault’ tracks are pretty good this time too, having not been fussed about the ones on Red/Fearless.

Think it’s almost certain she plays a few songs from it tonight to celebrate the release. Whether they’ll stick around for future shows though, not sure 😖

She’s definitely adding more Speak Now to the set (wouldn’t mind if she took off some others in place of the actual belters from Speak Now) and I reckon the surprise songs will be SN focused too this weekend. Someone pointed out Paramore have a gap in their schedule so Castles Crumbling could be tonight!
also Taylor Nation has encouraged people to wear purple so wouldn’t be surprised if she brings out some new outfits this weekend on theme!

Separate q - what song would you be gutted to have as your surprise songs? I think if I got Glitch or Paper Rings I’d be a bit sad haha

Question is - what if 1989 drops before the European tour? Maybe Speak Now is already shafted and we're clamouring for New Romantics instead, and I'll have my "Play Style in full you coward" sign.

Paper Rings is one of our wedding songs so we’d be thrilled to get that 😭 any of Dear John, Snow On The Beach, Me!, I Almost Do, or Last Kiss would be underwhelming but not the end of the world

From what she's said, she won't be playing ones she's done (that she thinks shes done well) again. I don't know if this is just the USA tour though. If it resets when she comes to the EU/UK I don't know. There's not many I wouldn't like to hear but those I would like to are:

Getaway Car
State of Grace
This is me trying
Clean
Out of the Woods.

I also think because Paramore support. we'll get Castle Crumbling most nights, as she did with Phoebe Bridgers and Nothing New, which they seemed to play every night as a 'extra' song in the surprise bit.

Errr yes, there are issues using AXS on an iPhone in particular.  Refresh too many times, and you get banned from the site for an hour.  There is a setting you can switch to avoid this (and videos showing how to do it).

Vinyl just arrived! Stunning and a nice prologue too.

Back to tickets - is this a refresh situation? I’ve seen some people are using the auto refresh extension for this but after you guys saying refresh too many times and you’re banned…

Anything off Folklore would do just dandily, or most songs off Lover that aren’t already in the show (except Me obvs)

Oh yeah I'm sure that will reset for future legs of the tour. She's got a massive back catalogue, but even by Taylor's standards she'd be plumbing the depths if that rule carries over to Europe.

My top 5 surprise songs would be:

  1. Exile w/Justin
  2. Long Live
  3. Holy Ground
  4. Clean
  5. You're on Your Own Kid

Generally I'd rather hear songs that were acoustic on record, rather than electric songs reverted back to their acoustic form. I'd be all over Getaway Car, but I'm less fussed for an acoustic version.

This is a good point actually. Labyrinth would be one of my top choices but no idea how that’d sound on just the guitar/piano

Strangely enough it was desktop I just couldn't get it to work but when using my phone (iPhone) it worked fine.

Really had to think about whether Maroon beat any of those out but it just lost out.

Would've, Could've, Should've is quietly Taylor's best song I reckon 😀 In fact, the bonus tracks on Midnights are some of her best work for my money. How they didn't end up on a proper album is quite remarkable.
