I imagine the solution Truss will go for will be to freeze energy bills but do it by giving the energy companies loans which we the tax payers have to pay back eventually.

No time like the present, the same people that moaned about Starmer not saying something weeks ago will say nothing to this.

Boris was so useless it made us wish we had May or Cameron back. Is Truss going to fuck up so badly that it makes us wish we had Boris back?

Somehow I doubt it. Only question now is can it get any worse?

She's more right wing, more ideological. I'm missing Boris already.

I reckon she'll do something dramatic to ease some of the anxieties, she'll want to get off on a good start.

She’s also said she doesn’t believe in wealth redistribution too so maybe she’ll be very bad at this.

I'm not convinced she is more ideological, look at how many times she has switched her beliefs. I think she just will say whatever is politically convenient at the time, not convinced she has an ideology.

well, we'll see...she has certainly been on a journey from lib dem to right of tory party...but she's been on the right for a while now, was one of the authors of that britannia unchained thing, and only rowed back on some of the things she said during the current campaign when looked electorally bad for her, after today she doesn't have to worry about an election for a couple of years (probably). With Kwarteng as chancellor and Braverman as home sec we're looking at a pretty right wing govt on economics and culture/social stuff. More right wing than Johnson, Cameron and Thatcher.

I’ve noticed the Queen of Darkness that is Patel isn’t amongst the cabinet.

Is she going to be lurking in the shadows ready to take over when Truss fails?

yeah, I don't know...I think many people think she was a bit shit as home sec due to immigrants in boats...I think her chances might be over.

    • First forecasts claim that though it gets cooler on the weekend (33C-ish), heatwave will be back by Monday. They expect at least 37-38C for next week, they don't know if it goes up to 40 degrees or not. Going to be tough.
    • Already notified me last night. There is always the chance from the waiting list but from my experience, I either win the ballot or miss out. I have never been offered tickets from a wait list for Blue Lights. Had them a few times from Concert For Carers. Hopefully, others on here will have better luck.   We're sorry, but unfortunately, your name has not been selected for All Points East - Deftones (Outbreak) - Sunday 23rd August 2026 at Victoria Park, London on 23 Aug 2026 at 1:30 pm on this occasion. We'll add you to the waiting list, and we’ll be in touch if tickets become available.
    • Agreed. She was in self-promotion mode. Something big could be anything to an artist who already knows what's planned. People have just applied Glastonbury to it, even though the artist might not have been thinking about Glastonbury at all.  She never hinted at it being Glastonbury in any way shape or form.
    • The Pyramid is long overdue a rethink. It looks archaic in this day and age
    • With a good undercard and sensible pricing it might be doable. Took a long time for the Sunday at Tramlines to sell out though. Hopefully now they'd have some good footage from this year's shows to help with the promo.
