she'll get sacked, there will be massive riots on saturday, she'll do a massive told you so and will be tory leader and PM this time next week.

BET NOW!

The problem is that she wants to be sacked, she knows the ship is sinking and is planning her own survival by making sure she isn’t associated with Rishi when it goes down. She did the same with Truss by resigning over a relatively small issue. She may be wary of resigning again as she might start to look like Gavin Williamson.

yep. She has an eye on that tory membership who probably broadly agree with a lot of stuff she comes out with.

Met Chief is confident he can manage both.  I hope so.  His arse will be on the line if it goes wrong.

football is effectivley sectaranism as well and most people understand the reasons the Manchester clubs or Liverpool and Everton don't play at home on the same day. Seems a massive risk to me.

What a strange comparison

Quote

In left-wing circles it is always
felt that there is something slightly disgraceful in being an Englishman
and that it is a duty to snigger at every English institution, from horse
racing to suet puddings. It is a strange fact, but it is unquestionably
true that almost any English intellectual would feel more ashamed of
standing to attention during ‘God save the King’ than of stealing from a
poor box. George Orwell, England Your England

Oh can't seem to quote your quote.

Are you comparing football fans to people sneering at Suet Puddings or at the weekend one march is left wing and the other right wing

Remembrance Day is on Sunday and that is the one with politicians and royalty. The Armistice Day event at the Cenotaph is a relatively low key event to commemorate the end of the first world war, organised by  the Western Front Association. The organiser Richard Hughes has come out stating that the Palestinian protest should go ahead as he believes that the casualties of WW1 were fighting for democracy and freedom of speech.

There have been Pro Palestine demonstrations in London for the last three weekends and these have passed off without any major issues or nothing that has aroused media interest.

In reality these two events should pass off without either being aware of the others existence as there locations are a couple of miles apart. The issue caused by Suella intervening is that she has stirred up both the right and left wing activists who have a more anarchic viewpoint, that there may well be a more violent conflict than there has been at the protests over the last three weekends.
