not yet...we don't even know when election will be yet...

We would normally be seeing a narrowing at this stage but it’s not happening yet. Just like the person who said tax cuts would cause the polls to narrow be narrow because they did before; there’s been tax cuts yet the polls didn’t narrow.

Yeah. Sunak is not popular, and is just a bit sh*t at media stuff...so maybe they won't narrow. But, have to see what happens when actual campaigns get going.

Oh boy it’s gonna be interesting, Sunak is dreadful, he’s gonna make May look charismatic.

The NI cut only started in January so most people won’t even have had one pay since then

very much agree ...  Also why such a difference in the polls out of interest ? are some that selective they aren't representative of the population

I'm guessing just methodologies, who they ask, how many, what they ask, what they do with the answers, assumptions they make, what they do with don't knows etc etc.

Yeah this.

One thing about the big Yougov MRP from a week or two ago was that it stated the polls were with the assumption of 0 tactical voting, ie. possibly it was going to be even worse for the Tories than suggested. That said, weighting for tactical voting is usually overdone anyway.

Even with the exact same data, different poll companies will produce different results because of the varying methods of extrapolation. The info that tends to be interesting is usually combined polls or significant changes compared to a previous one by the same company.

don't think they'll narrow by much, but i'm sure the tories will find something the public likes to sell themselves with, and also some labour stuff to scare people with.

I think I was one of the people saying that just because polls have narrowed before doesn’t necessarily mean they will again.

So do you think Labour Majority now, or still sticking with Labour Minority?

Savanta chap goes into detail here on the main differences.

or because on shows a 27 point lead and the other a 14 point lead which rather shows they are so inaccurate regardless of what I might like.

Not everything is about who people choose to vote you know. Somethings are just simple numbers with 27 being almost double 14 in case you struggle with the concept bless you.

I literally shared from Savanta the reasons (not all) why the polling would be different but keep up the condescending attitude.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
