and person who will be in charge of borders

$88Bn to deport 1m people. So that's 88 grand per person. I reckon if you offer them half that to just leave, you'd do quite well.

Trump will do his best to bankrupt the country.

Gonna be the most ghoulishly corrupt clown show on earth. A real criminal enterprise occupying the highest office again, except this time it’s gonna be totally gloves off and unchecked, with Musk and Thiel acting as shadow presidents (except barely even ‘shadow’ as Musk has seemingly been at Trump’s side since he won). Wild four years ahead for America.

Rubio for Secretary of State apparently. Hardline on China and Iran, voted against military aid package for Ukraine and thinks Ukraine needs to seek a negotiated settlement where it isn't regaining all the territory that Russia has taken in the last decade.

It feels a given that Ukraine are not getting all the land back now, the question is how do they stop Russia feeling empowered and wanting more

yeah, NATO membership is one sticking point, but also Ukraine is currently occupying part of Russia still...although Russia likely to put everything into regaining that plus pushing into Ukraine as much as poss before any negotiations.

So apparently the Harris campaign paid around $20 million for all of the celeb appearances, which is… ridiculous. Honestly had no idea they were getting a fee for that type of stuff. Oprah apparently got a million for her appearance alone. Mental.

And now they’re apparently in debt and still asking for donations for recounts etc.

No one has been more vocal in their criticism of Trump than the brilliant Sam Harris. I don't always agree with him, but he absolutely nails what went wrong for the Democrats here...

heard a bit about trans and then a bit about the hijab and then couldn't listen to anymore of his voice.

Ha ha. I gave up after about 5 minutes too. Says 'identity politics is over' then goes on to talk at length about it. Says people don't care about it, when Trump campaigned ceaselessly on anti-trans and anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Christ. They’ve even named it after Elon’s crypto coin (DOGE) to really stick in how stupid of an idea this is:

I'm not sure why this is 'breaking' this was kind of announced ages ago that this would happen if trump won. You can bet they will abbreviate it at every opportunity to give free publicity to his DOdGEy coins.

Draining the swamp eh...

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
