About Gojira, Architects, A Day To Remember, Bullet For My Valentine, KoRn, Steel Panther and Alter Bridge, even if I love all these bands, I don't see them go higher than sub-headliners for me.

Architects are growing up in every album, i see them headlining. Alter Bridge should be headlining since 2017 tbh, they played O2 arena 2 times ffs. the time of BFMV and Steel Panther has passed

I really don’t see Volbeat ever headlining. Gojira are probably bigger than them which also isn’t happening.

Admittedly if it did ever happen the rest of the line up would be very weak due to budget being blown on one act

Metallica doing two headline sets at Sonic Temple. An ingenious way for Download to stretch their tiny headliner pool even further. Honestly could see that sorta thing happening more than some of the bands in this thread.

To be fair I saw that lineup and immediately thought 'that'd be awesome'. Interested to see how they split the sets and whether they'll include all the big hitters in both, or do two full album sets, or just pick em all by random. After almost a decade of them not playing Download, it'd be a baller move to have them come back and do two sets.

i'm sure they will do it in Europe next year, playing 2 nights in some selected festivals like Download, Werchter and Pinkpop. let's see if it works in US first

Billie Eilish could support as she’s a big Van Halen fan.
