Wow, you've had some mileage out of that tent. My old one of those tents lasted me for a fair number of Glastonbury's, and also for loads of other camping trips. I'm not sure how, but one of the metal poles for it got snapped in two. On top of that the nylon started to be too saggy, and I think that it had it's fair share of patched up cigarette holes in the ground sheet. I still remember coming to the conclusion that I needed to get a new tent. Throwing the old one out though felt a little like having a pet put down.

Ha - yes. It's Glastonbury only for the poor old thing. Every year I say it's going to be the last (especially in a wet year), but I just can't do it.

Love this tent picture .... I was given one of those 2 man blue Millets things as a kid in the early 80s for camping in the garden.

It's still going strong .... and here it is pitched and ready in 2017.

your Post reminds me of my time in the Scouts 'although we never had modern tents'so what field is that ? - I bet it did not stay like that - As I get older I have started buying bigger tents - this is my latest Vango and will be used at Womad and River Cottage Festival - god knows who is on - it was just to do a few festivals I have never been to before.

Hello all,

I've been away for a few days and deliberately left my computer behind. To plagiarise a little - the world out there is weird, man, and crazy on top!

On a cursory glance back, I notice that you are now hitting near lethal levels of number / Glastonbury references.  I can't even get a 152 today, as I'm that jaded from eating e's. However, I can provide this photo for your enjoyment;

I like the warning sign best.

    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
