Ahh fair. Wonder if King Kong is just a continuation of that theme or a genuine hint towards Gorillaz. Would make sense if they were both some sort of hints considering they're so prominent at the top of the poster, yet throwing people off who think it's just part of the movie theme.

Don't really see the point in subtle hints hidden within the 200 movie references on the poster. Just chill and see what the line up brings. :P

Are Gorillaz not an exclusive for Boomtown?

They phrased it weirdly in the press release for it though. Something like they were an "exclusive solo english headline festival performance" or something silly like that.

I'm not sure how relavent the Gorilla ia, i think (unless they have explicitly announce its a movie themed year) we should be thinking of film related refernce. There profile pic is the gorilla in the MGM pose, and then that coming soon thing has a bunch of other movie references

Remember when the programme for Glastonbury one year said the Other opener would be somebody would knock your socks off, and then there was a whole thread of people calling other people stupid for suggesting the band wouldn't be sock-related in some way?

I'm hoping they'll scoop up Lorde and maybe SZA. They always have a really good overall line-up so if there's like one must-see then tickets are worth it.

Genuinely can’t remember that.

But aye, last year’s poster had all sketches of 80’s gizmos on it, and the one before had some other assorted critters in the same style. No use reading into it really.

Pretty sure SZA is in America early summer, expecting she'll come over for the late summer fests instead. Considering she ain't booked for Wireless which seems like would be the fest best aligned for her style, and let's be honest Parklife can't be that big of a destination for US acts, they ain't gonna come over just to play it :P

Why delete it buddy efest ?

They have let themselves down by not having password protection on their website update, it’s not your fault mate it’s theirs ! Why stress and why take the drivel off them ?

These things are always difficult to handle, and what else is on my plate at the time has a bearing too.

There would have been much more stress here if i'd left it up than took it down, I had stuff flying at me from all directions from a number of different people, and i didn't really have the time to argue it with them even if I'd wanted to.

But beyond that I do have criteria I work to for these sorts of things, and this was more in the 'delete' than 'remain' category (tho with more time I might have investigated more and shifted to remain).

If matey has stuck to typing names (and not absolutely everything) I doubt they'd have been any of the same drama.

I attempt to work a fair line between allowing leaks and supporting festivals in what they want to do.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
