gregory
Absolutely no way Franz are big enough to headline one of these shows, even in their heyday.

I was at that show, but even back then if it were a one day show like BST it wouldn't have happened. Pearl Jam, Muse & Arctic Monkeys were the big draws at Reading that year from memory. DomDom1984
With a decent support, I think they could have done a one off show, especially not doing other stuff like I'd imagine will be the case with the hinted act.

They were billed as a Co-Headliner with Kaiser Chiefs (I think it was the first time they tried the quantity not quality headliner bit). Franz did play after Kaisers for the Reading date at least though.

They co-headlined with Scissor Sisters at V not long before but headlined Reading on their own.
judyblue110
All this conversation over a joke. Christ. Move on lads, noone gives a crap about Franz Ferdinand's past or future headlining ability.

Tommy101
For the record @DomDom1984 was right though. No idea why I thought otherwise but was my first night of music at a festival so was quite confident.

Interesting Shutup you turd I was saying he couldn't be included in the "3 acts in their 70s" clue cos he's 69 but then because he's 70 by the time BST takes place maybe he could be included. EDIT when I say this, I mean the reunion tour, not 100% BST Is this still the case? James Iha looks to be still touring and doing press with A Perfect Circle.
