Just spotted that now. Bastards.

@sparkythetortoise - I'm intending on checking out October Drift. @crazyfool1 has been banging on about them for a while but I think he's biased :)

he is :) ... let me know what you think too ...and say hello to Chris the drummer if you meet them

Ruddy eck you're talking about weather - must be getting close. I was litter picking on that Wednesday and it was tough, I can tell you, but I'd take it anytime over the horror show of the previous year.

anyhow....

Just nipped in to say that while I sadly won't be attended this year, and am still smarting over that fact , I've just come back from seeing "October Drift" supporting The Slow Readers Club, and while the headliners were fine, it was the support act that caught my imagination with a blistering set. I felt duty bound to recommend you make the effect to get so see them if you can (They are the opening act on the main stage on Friday, so easily missed, I would think.) - sort of Nirvana/Editors hybrid, with a touch of Ian Curtis in the front man, if such a thing can be imagined.

Bands I tip for greatness usually end up languishing in utter obscurity, so this recommendation from me is probably the  kiss of death, but I really do think these guys have got something.

Have a great festival, one and all

they are pretty good aren't they ?:) will give the feedback to the guys :) ...I love the energy of the band ( but im biased :) )

I'll take hot and dry over the 2015 quagmire..

Yeah I know what you mean, but that Wed last year was sooo hard. The year before was hard, but at least I could breath. Couldn’t get far, but could breath! me and my pal think that year was so funny, one of our best.

Anyway, back to BT, dry with a glimmer of sun. Perfect.

Had the play list blasting yest. Got me even more excited. Just gotta get the 3 chump work days out the way, then the fun starts.

You should have told them you will be eating cheese and drinking port at Cheesy Vinyl...

Ha ha. I should’ve said that. Love me some port and cheese.

With you on the cider ever since gagging on the stuff as a teenager.

Love the fact we can bring our own choice of tipple to the arena....Lager for me too with the temptation of vodka and whisky.....am I right in thinking there ain't a silent disco?

First time at BT and cannot bloody wait!

Hello Beardo's

Can I get some info please ?

Can anyone advise at what time the car park will open (and entrace through wristband exchange if possible)

Coming from a fair distance and want to time this right.

Last year got into Car park about 10am and onto camp site before noon.

Hearing that Car Park will not be open until 1pm this year - which seems very tight to get parked, unpacked, set up camp before the Pallet Stage opens.

ALSO

is there a link to stage times / clashfinder ?

Completely admit that I am a bit lazy to trawl through 17 pages to get this

Can anyone help ?

This probably isn't accurate, but at least it's something to work from - https://clashfinder.com/s/bearded2018/

I think the stage times will only be available when you get there.

Forecast has gone a bit downhill for the Friday now, unfortunately. Taking my 5 year-old for the first two days as his first festival experience! Hopefully it won’t turn into a deluge.

Looking forward to some dance tent action on the Friday night (once child has departed) - Altern 8 usually does an Old Skool Rave set followed by Darren Emerson. Will probably watch Sleeper and The Coral with the boy in the evening.

Looking forward to Mik Artistik/ FLC/ Sleaford Mods/ Robert Plant/ Dub Pistols/ Jimmy Cliff on the other days.

Haven’t done as much investigative work on the undercard as I normally do for festivals. Any other tips? Not really a fan of punk, so anything other than this would be appreciated!

Beware of the clashfinder. I based Thursday, in particular, purely on how many acts there were, and how long acts tend to play for. I have no insider knowledge at all, and did it just for fun. Please don't commit yourself to anything important off the back of it.

That said, I think @Gnomicide found a tweet from the Bearded folk saying they were surprisingly accurate, but caveat emptor, and all that

Yep, they said the main stages were pretty accurate, there is another Bearded Clashfinder on there that has been completed by someone who posts on the Bearded forum, might be worth having a look at that too.

The music started earlier last year for the 10th anniversary celebrations hence being able to get into the car parks earlier.  The main stages start at 6pm and Something Else Tea Tent at 4pm so should be plenty of time.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
