Have seen Chic about 4 times in the past 5 years or so, always found the show to be overly polished, the on stage banter was nearly word for word the same across all the times I have seen them, if you've seen them once, you've basically seen them enough times in my eyes.

And it took you four times to realise this? :P

aye, if you've never seen them before or just want a dance it's good fun.

if you've seen them before it's very same-y, from the setlist, right down to Nile explaining between songs how great he is for writing hits for Diana Ross and David Bowie.

Chic isnt supposed to be a transformative live music experience. Its a cod-raveup through some of the best party chewns ever written however. Those that put this down are sadc**ts. End of.

Have some mates that really enjoy Chic so seem to get dragged along when I've been places that they're playing, normally too late in the day for me to be arsed with going off on my own and trying to locate them later in the evening.

Could this be the year we finally get Daft Punk? I doubt it but stranger things have happened!

considering there's a lot of chatter about them joining Lady Gaga on her Coachella slot replacing Beyonce, I'd think there's more of a chance of them joining her for Glastonbury (and hence maybe Chic too). Seems like she'd be the person, who if not headlining, would want to do something a bit special so peeps are chatting about her...rather than the bore of a ginger busker following her.

I'll be honest (and I'm not a sadc**t all of the time) when they headlined Bingley festival they did nothing for me. And I'd be all over a Jackson's cod-raveup this year.

I'd love a Jackson cod-raveup.

I don't think theres one Chic tune I like. Never mind something I'd sing and dance along to. Fucking hate Good Times. And that Everybody Dance nonsense. You fucking dance!

But can't deny I'm in the tiny minority there. West Holts went apeshit for them in 2013.

Didn't Nile Rodgers produce a lot of the Jacksons big hits?*

Perhaps they could be performing together as some sort of Disco super group...

*EDIT Having done a quick bit of Discogs research, the answer is no. But still.

Its all a bit shite office party music for me.

Listening to it when I'm at an office party - you're right, it is shite. But a field full of people, 10,000 dancing, live music, lights in your face, suits so sparkly they put you in hospital, no sane/leathered man can say no to that, amiright!?

The more I think about the possibility of Chic playing the more I think Sunday 'Legend' slot is perfect and a massive tonic after the duller than hoped for ELO last year.

Don't kill the Di-Ro dream man!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
