I'm gonna sound like a complete air head but what is the language barrier at Rock Werchter like? I assume the main language is Dutch but I know the only other time I was in Belgium there was a lot of French spoken. Is it a bit like the Netherlands where people seem to prefer you to speak English? I like trying my best at a new language but to be honest it just seemed to annoy the Germans at Rock Am Ring.

As you posted this year, is RAR/RIP worth a visit?

Main language is Dutch but most of the people have no problem to talk/help you in english. No worries.

Been to RaR three times and it's awesome. The main stage is a bit narrow, but the 2nd stage is probably the best 2nd stage I've seen. Saw bands like Marilyn Manson, Motörhead, Slipknot, The Bloodhound Gang, Strangles, Steel Panther and others there, fantastic stage. The campsite is also perfect if you like to party.

Unfortunaly they have moved the festival to a new location and I've never been there......so I can't really tell you anything about how Rock am Ring is today.....

I did notice a while back that the main stage seemed to be very deep but narrow. I think one of these two would be what I would try in Europe if I bothered although Nova has got me thinking this year.

You're first error would be trying to speak Dutch as that's Netherlands..... Flemish would be the one to learn but we struggled when we went... everyone I mean EVERYONE speaks english

Ah i thought flemish was a regional version of dutch? Ok cool so just stick to English. Thats a bit of a relief. Im probably doing the fest on my own so it makes it easier if i can still use english.

You are right. The Netherlands and Belgium has in general the same language (Dutch), only the accent is different. And of course the choices of words can be different. But at school there is no such thing as 'Flemish'. They learn 'nederlands' (=Netherlands / Dutch). So if you can talk dutch you can talk flemish

Important: 'pintje' = a beer. But it is not a pint, it's half a pint :)

What is the Belgian view on Stromae?

I saw him at Sziget and he had MASSIVE CRAZY support of all benelux people who were there

Probably more likely for Pukkelpop or a tour next year as he has a new album in the works that probably won't release earlier than Q3 2017. I would like him on RW, but doesn't seem too likely.

Not doing festivals this year to concentrate on his fashion label

Another poor announcement. Undercard isn't looking good at this festival thus far :(

If you compare this with the anouncements, the same time last year...

"the undercard isn't looking good" is saying it mildly! :(

I don't really bother about up votes or down votes but you'll know if it was you, then seriously you need to take a long look at yourself and stop being so childish. It's fairly obvious who's trolling. Please grow up

I know them feels :(

To be fair, there's stuff I'll happily go watch. Just nothing that really excites me. Most of the artists are a bit dull :(
