Would be more than happy with The Killers.

Chances of Snow Patrol? They (apparently) have a new album out this year and been away for a while.

The Killers would be great in my opinion before Radiohead (I know The XX are very likely to get that spot). And then there is Queens of the Stone Age who apperantly are releasing a reckord this year, I'd love to have them before Foos :)

Someone on the Pukklepop boards seems to think it's looking they will play headline there instead

Looking at their calendar, I think that The Killers are WAY MORE probable than the XX to be sub for Radiohead, I'd see The XX for Pukkelpop instead. Maybe we'll get the answer tomorrow :) The XX are just a rumour launched here, but realism tends to be in favor of the Killers.

I think you could be right, although seem a better fit than the killers. Did not realise they have got so big, especially in the UK,

Hoping xx play werchter and sziget as they are amazing. :D

RW changed their Facebook's photo to a poster of the act that already been announced. Seems like a weird thing to do if they're were going to announce something tomorrow in my opinion. Could it be that there wont be any announcement tomorrow?

The new The XX-album is being presented today at radiotation Stubru. Stubru usually announces the new names for RW on fridays @ 16h. They also mention, on their site, that big news is being announced for the Stubru-listeners today @ 16h about The XX.  Seems obvious that The XX will be added to the line-up today

Flemish radio station Studio Brussel tells the XX will make a "huge" announcement at 16.00 this friday afternoon. That's exactly the time RW announces new acts. So it's either the XX on the RW bill, or the XX playing an intimite gig for the Stubru-listeners at Club 69.

I hope the XX are the people that are announced although I have tickets for one of the Brixton dates.

just about finished my first play through of I See You and can't wait to hear the new material live.

Sold out 7 nights at brixton, can't remember a band playing brixton on a tour so much.

Better than playing a couple of nights in a London arena, although they seem to be playing an arena in Wales. Would be interesting how there sound went in a arena though.

That was me. With the amount of touring they are doing this year I wouldn't bet against them doing both. Subbing probably Radiohead or AF at RW and headlining Pukkelpop. Pukkelpop have taken a subbing band at RW as one of their smaller headliners in the past.

Makes sense that it's a RW announcement today now that the Belgian gigs have sold out.

99% certain it's a Club 69 concert. Stubru has never been allowed to tease the content of upcoming RW announcements before. And their tweet is in exactly the same fashion as previous Club 69 announcements.

It would also imply we won't get Werchter names today, as Stubru purposely chose to do the announcement at 4pm...

I hope so ... although I feel the millers are a bit past it they are still a great live act ... Branson has so much energy and the xx just don't seem to have the energy ... fingers crossed it's killers

Are these Club 69 concerts a night thing or a daytime concert?  Looks like Friday 3rd March is the most obvious date.

Could it be the Pukkelpop announcement Chokris daughter was hinting at?  You'd have thought there was more of a build up from the PP organisers if it was though and as good as they are it's hardly a massive first announcement.

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
