Weezer?

They sounded great last night - Up there with Green Day as a live act (Take that for what you will as I know they get ton's of hate on here) but a lot of fun - New album not over with the audience here yet, most likely due to it only being out for a few days so those songs felt flat but when the hit's where played (Even Back To The Shack) they where phenomenal.

Rudimental headlined the Other stage last year - Weezer definitely can.

Agreed, but i think other sub would be the best they can get at the moment. I think they would be a great booking

Green Day were terrible when I saw them in 2013 and Rudimental would draw twice the crowd Weezer would.

Crikey, if Jake Bugg can headline the other then Weezer surely can but I saw them mid-afternoon in 1995 on the NME stage and that was in their peak of Blue album so think they would possibly by a JP headliner as per Suede. I love them so would see them wherever but some saying it was probably said in jest as a bit of a sarcastic comment in that they hardly play over here so he was being ironic (hard to imagine, I know, being American and all)

Think Green Day depends on the enviroment, I seen them in 09 at a non-festival appearance and they where superb, friends have mixed views on the 12/13 performances @ R&L. I still stand by that if they do Glasto they'll be one of the acts of the weekend. Then again I love most of there music so I'm probably a bit bias. You really think that about Rudimental? I've never attended Glasto but the diversity of the audience you see and hear of people attending leaves me begging to differ. But I could well be wrong. Will be interested to see how the album does in the chart on Sunday - Not that it means much these days but still.

To me they cancelled out the irony last night by not making the "and every other UK festival appearance" bit, it was just see you at Glasto and R&L.

i hope you were at the iPro to make it an all round good one!

Ha!  Alas living in London I can't make midweek games, but funny story: we scored our second, and I was so busy celebrating to the radio commentary in a Clapham Junction waiting room (let alone posting on eFests about Weezer) that I missed my ruddy train (to Wiltshire, to visit Mum & Dad, also ex-Derby) and had to wait another bloody hour!

It's reassuring to know I wasn't imagining things - I was at the London show and I was sure I heard Rivers Cuomo say Glastonbury at the end, and it definitely wasn't followed by 'and all other UK festivals'.

Christ knows why then if Weezer do have shows in the US for the whole weekend though. I suppose they don't come to the UK all that often, so maybe they just wanted to get the crowd to cheer by mentioning the two festivals they've actually heard of....

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
    • Landowners make too much money for that to happen . They make more from the festival than from farming the rest of the year don’t they ?
