Radiohead touring in 2016

I wonder what has changed to make them so happy to delve into their back catalog so extensively.

To be fair they did so pretty extensively up until the last tour, it was just the 2012 tour where they seemed so averse to earlier stuff.

I guess with this album being a lot more organic sounding (for want of a better phrase) than the last it's probably influenced things.

Why the fuck are they still playing the gloaming? Another setlist with it in tonight, shocking. Even the TKOL tracks they play, are a much more interesting selection.

they must really love that song. has there been a setlist without it in the 13 years since it's release!? such a dud

Gloaming is pretty great live, much better than on record and they don't really have another song like it. That said they do play it too often.

This setlist so far has had no surprises except for No Surprises

Love Seperator. Its easily my fave on TKOL track. Id happily take Bloom, Lotus Flower, Seperator and GUTG as the TKOL cuts this Thursday. I have no doubt ill get Little By Little, Feral and Magpie instead.

Tonights setlist easily trumps Amsterdam night 1. A part of me thinks that the band probably felt what we felt when we saw the Amst night 1 setlist. Even with 9 new songs, it felt overly familliar. As in it drew alot from setlists they performed on TKOL Tour. Maybe they sensed that and felt more inclined to mix it up and not rest on their laurels.

They've gone mad.

Wouldn't even be surprised if they bang out Creep at one of these gigs.

I'd almost be surprised if they don't given how things are going.

Hoping for Fake Plastic Trees, The Bends, Just or Planet Talex. Any one of those would be mega.

Does ME have some kind of a speech impediment or something? He seems to be pausing  in a strange way a lot in that video. I can't remember him previously ever sounding like that.

He's 80 years old and has usually been a bit mumbly even when he was much younger. Also, I saw him being interviewed with Emily a few weeks ago and she jumped in to correct him a couple of times. It was almost as if she was 'covering his back' in case he said something he shouldn't.

Yeah suppose it could just be an age thing. Doesn't sound right though. Almost like he's had a mild stroke or something.

He's physically such a large and strong man I didn't immediately think this was an age thing as he looks consirable younger.

this video tells us nothing about Radiohead. Hope we get some news on this soon.

    • It does feel like there's a push back against net zero from both left and right, but especially the right. Probably since Trump I guess, but even before Trump you had the tea party and Sarah Palin thing, but over here the right were on board with the issue of climate change and the need to address it, from Thatcher through to Johnson. That has now changed, first it was the populist right, not it is mainstream, with Badenoch making the two prerequisites for standing for the Tories being against net zero, and for leaving the ECHR. You can be an ex neo-nazi as long as you are against net zero. At least many now seem to accept the climate change is happening and it is caused by us, but they now say well it will be a nice mediterranean climate so lets bin net zero anyway and just have fun f**k all that woke green sh*t. But also the left, with various trade union leaders and blue labour types going on about net zero being bad for the economy and the need for reindustrialisation as we head back to the glory days of the 50s when we all worked down pit or something, ignoring the amount of industries and jobs created by net zero. The greens obviously are still firmly behind the net zero thing, but the party is also full of nimbys who are worried about hedgerows and hedgehogs and votes, and even the leadership have realised that there isn't votes in climate doomerism but there definitely is in bashing billionaires and Israel. I guess the main driver of net zero policies in the country is still Miliband which is probably why everyone seems to be f**king terrified of him, the mad freak and his renewables. He is out of the energy department, but his replacement is hardly a petrolhead, and he isn't in the treasury doing terrifying things like spending money, but he is in the foreign office which is maybe a good place for him because climate change is a global issue and its going to take a global effort.
