What device did you get through on?

I was sat in a traffic jam and launched it on my iPhone using 4G. I just let the holding page refresh itself and within 4 minutes I was in. I didn't need a coach ticket but entered my details all the way up to entering card details. I also kept pressing back to go back to the reg page again and it kept allowing me to proceed. I did post on here to see if anyone wanted me to try for them.

So a complete mix of browsers/ devices etc. It shows that it is just luck and there is no point getting hung up on little nuances, which is a good thing. If it came down to internet speed then all the tickets would go to those people first and you would have a big bias towards certain areas with high speed internet. If it came down to a certain browser then everybody would end up using that browser anyway so no advantage would be gained.

I used an iMac. I initially had 3 tabs open on Firefox and 2 on Safari but after a few mins of getting nowhere I closed the Safari ones down and then opened 2 more tabs on Firefox. I was going between them f5'ing and then one of them went to the booking page. So I booked my ticket (with shaky hands...!) and then closed the other 4 tabs, all of which had gone to the booking page too. I'm sure it was just luck and that closing Safari down had nothing to do with it. That being said, I did feel more able to control my f5'ing better using just 1 browser and a few tabs. I found this was less distracting and easier to manage.

IP traffic is device and browser neutral.

It's quite easy at the server end to detect what's what and do something different on specific device/browser criteria, but why would you?

There's absolutely no point at all, apart from perhaps serving a lighter-content page to light-weight devices.

It's just increasing that we get our knockers in a twist envy year, trying to understand the system. I know ive spent hours poring over all the threads, and yet I agree, it makes no difference! Aside from the occasional back door in the past.

Do you think the links to deeper pages make any difference Neil?
