Weird seeing sites like Pitchfork and AV Club run a story about an EOTR announcement (and it literally with all of them is "The Shins are playing End Of The Road Festival" as opposed to "the Shins have been announced for a British festival")

I might be being thick, but why is that weird?

I'm working my way through each artist on Spotify and I want to see pretty much everbody this year. Not too bothered by the Woods Stage headliners, except for The Shins, but the overall quality of the weekend is great. I can tell that gig planning is going to be bloody hard and I'm hoping there will be time for lazing about on the lawn at the Garden Stage. Hangovers and lack of sleep might dictate there I guess!

The Low Anthem have played EOTR many times and seem to be quite close with Simon, so yeah, that would make a fair bit of sense that they'd be back at the festival with their new album coming out. Would be great to see them there.

All four Sunday headliners for me. Nightmare clash. Think I'm just about putting the Fannies up top, but might get tickets for their Electric Ballroom show to ease the congestion.

Potential King Gizzard vs BSS vs Kevin Morby will be horrible. Animal Collective vs Cat Power. Basia Bulat and Local Natives vs that beautiful Garden run from Jeff Lewis to Ezra. So much good stuff!

Let's hope Big Top headliners are later, but I have some major clashes

Friday -  Animal Collective v Beak (?)

Saturday - Bat For Lashes v Ezra v Steve Mason (?) v Fews

Sunday - Devendra Banhart v Thurston Moore v King Gizzard v Scitti v Sunflower Bean

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
