Hello all and good afternoon! Sorry if this is the wrong place for this type of chatter. Ive impulsively decided to buy a ticket to bearded theory rather than stagnate in sunny leeds all bank holiday!

Unfortunately it is too short notice for my local buddies and so I'll be on my tod.

Has anyone been to Bearded Theory solo? How was it? I haven't been to a festival in many-a-year.

Ps. Woooooo! killing joke!

Looks like you just scraped in, sold out tonight.

I did the festival solo in 2012 and had a great time. Got chatting to some lovely neighbours,  saw an absolute shit load of bands and just generally had a fabulous time. You'll love it.

This is my video from that year. It goes on a bit and the music fading in and out is a bit annoying but...

You do see so much more on your own - I have to agree. Here's my flying  solo video - gives the impression I must have been rushing around trying to see everything, but it didn't feel like that at the time

That is a lovely video man, been watching it nearly every day for the past week. Really gets me in the mood for it.

Just in case I hadn't mentioned it, I'm going again this year only taking the wife for company (that's her in the picture).  We will be dressed as The Blues Brothers occasionally. It was absolutely brilliant last year. See you down the front for Black Uhuru!

Almost time for Springwatch weather. If it says rain, just ignore it, if it says sunshine,  it's spot on.

Ha ha, so true. I'm waiting for Countryfile, festival season is truly upon us

You now get weather for the week ahead that goes right through the following weekend and on Sunday's  the BBC kindly posts it on their web site mid afternoon so we don't have to wait for Countryfile etc any more.

Yeah but that's not as fun :-) it's like a part of the build up for me. I must watch Countryfile

Well thanking you, sir. Its the kind of festival you feel you want to spread the word about, I guess. Also helps my ever aging brain remember what I did

Hi Paul

Thanks for that. I had looked "in the mist" but needed 2 teen tickets as well. Slightly more difficult.

Not to worry. Another year :)

Site Plan has changed a little bit, not least where the box office is this year.

Anyone any idea where Oxfam Crew field will be this year? Paul TM?

Over the road where crew camping was last year just across from main production  gate

Thanks - so that's basically outside the site now then this year - do you mean the field opposite Red Gate across the road?

    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
    • That would be perfect!
