Alan_C
It's been happening all week. McCLaren to be sacked, then it changes to he will take training tomorrow. It seems like the club don't want to sack him until Benitez has the pen in his hand. It's gone too far down the line for McClaren to stay now, even if Benitez changed his mind. You can't undermine a manager like that all week, cancel his press conference and not tell him what's going on, then expect him to keep us up. He's not even capable anyway. Part of me thinks that they see Leicester as a free hit, where they expect us to lose anyway so they're not in such a hurry about it. I hope not though. TheGayTent
Looks like we've tied up Nordtveit who's out of contract at Monchengladbach at the end of the season. 25, can play more than one position - a low (no) risk signing. I like.

It's something I really struggle to understand, like booing through a minutes silence. It's gotta be the mob-mentality thing - with the excitement of the game taking over for most of them it's just a case of joining in because they can probably. Horrible. Ignoring your pompousness, the answer is because that is impractical and the very last thing the authorities want. As a general rule of thumb, police do not intervene inside a stadium unless requested to by the stewarding or there's open disorder. Stewarding, by its nature is mainly a part-time role. It's not well trained or well paid. There's often no great desire for stewards to get involved for obvious reasons. It's practical to eject a tiny minority. Particularly if that minority is reported by its own supporters. It's totally impractical to eject the majority of (3,000?) away supporters. Or even a large minority of supporters come to that. In addition, the decision would probably be made that attempting to do so will only aggravate matters and make the situation worse. Notwithstanding the above, having a large number of away supporters roaming the streets outside the ground long before the final whistle is the last thing the authorities want. Far better to keep them inside the ground, where they're covered by cctv and more easily managed. Liverpool v Man Utd evening games are rarer than rocking horse shit. All day drinking in the build up is almost a thing of the past. The authorities will have had their plans in place for a long time - probably involving the away fans being kept in after the game to let the home fans disperse, before being heavily escorted back on coaches and trains. The singing of a song, one that's been heard plenty of times before, and is very much the norm for these games isn't something that's going to change the match day plans of the authorities. Wooderson
Grinds my gears. Spose it's easier to do that with Hillsborough songs than 'Your team is shit' type accusations as in that Anfield Wrap article.
