Showers

You're hardly using any water, about half a kettles worth a shower each so it drains away quite easily. The tent thing comes with a small mat you can stand on so your feet don't get muddy I just move the tent thing over a few feet after about 3 days to stop it getting too muddy. Obviously if you're in a limited space then this might be difficult but then again it depends on how many are using it, it was 4 of us last time at Glasto but we had tons of space around us as we were in Wickets family camping and you had pretty much all the space you wanted.

There are showers in the cycling fields near Gate A, used them last year. They're communal, they do groups of females for 15 mins then groups of men. I dont think i queued longer than 20 mins and was definitely worth it. They asked for a donation to charity between £2-5.

One of these, if there are any left.

Mine cost about £12, normally about £20

Very similar to the one I have n posted the link but £29.99? No chance! The Decathlon one is insulated for not much more. This is a bargain at a fiver but don't think for one minute its worth thirty.

Always presumed these were for cyclists only? Is that not the case? Happy to pay a couple of quid for a worthy cause and we'll be near gate A.

Same here! Hopefully get of the coach, and camp in Woodsies or Pylon

Nope, general public can use them too! Last year anyway. They weren't really advertised as they had limited hot water, I think there was a small sign I noticed on the way in, they were on the left as you walk from gate A.

I cycled last year and I'm cycling again this year. There's been a lot more demand this year, so they've tightened up the rules slightly.

This is from the Facebook group:

"The showers run at specific times and should be available to cyclist not camping in the field at those times (tbc) there will be a charge for showers only and this will need to be paid to the shower crew who will check you cycling credentials and issue a shower band I imagine. I think the shower charge for cyclist will be a fiver. It will be posted on here when we have full info."

Kind of infers the showers won't be available to non-cyclists.

But having said that, last year they had surplus hot water and opened it up to everyone, so that may happen again this year.

Might be worth a go if you're camped somewhere near Ped Gate A, but possibly not worth the trek if you're over the other side of the site.

Love working as we get hot showers 24/7 for H&S reasons.....

This was probably the best thing about going with Oxfam last year. They're actively enforcing the shower limits that are being enoucraged sitewide this year tho, not sure three across the seven days is enough to tempt me back to working with them again in the future.

We go to the Greenpeace showers. Ticket system so no queue so to speak (at least it was in 2013) - plus then you get to spend your morning having a little wander round the green fields area, visiting the Tiny Tea Tent etc

is it OK to take standard soap/shower gel in there or do they ask for Eco friendly stuff??

They provide you with eco friendly shower gel / shampoo. All you need is a towel

I'm almost impressed at how good the shower operation is at Glastonbury given how many people there are and given there are relatively few showers. You might imagine there would be mega-long queues and the like.

But then perhaps there are too many people who aren't fussed by showering for that situation to happen.

I ask this every year and never get an answer. What are the opening times for the Greenpeace showers? People say to go "off-peak" but difficult to judge this when you don't know when they actually open!

I believe they open at 8am, maybe a bit earlier.

I can vouch for going off-peak. Popped in most evenings at about 6pm and walked straight in.

What are the best and least busy showers near Pennard Hill Ground camping area?

The Greenpeace showers. Pop over the railway track and you're there. Very busy in the mid-morning but go in the afternoon/early evening and it's a breeze.

    • I think their best chance is to get at Brazil. I though Casemiro in particular but the entire Brazil midfield was awful for the first half of that game, and if McTominay and McGinn press and run past them they've got every chance of getting the lead. You kinda assume Vini Jr and Raphinha will do something at some point in any game, but Brazil look like they're waiting for their stars to make something happen, instead of having a team plan.   I stand by my claim before the tourney that Morocco put 3 past Scotland, which suggests to me they need to nick a draw against Brazil.
    • The dance and pop acts seem to be going down more than the rest lol. Download has turned into 90s fest of the Midlands haha, but it's all silly music no one actually likes lol.
    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.
